The world is in God’s hands and he provides hope for his people.

Isaiah 6

God’s grace has been exhausted. He spared no expense on God’s people, and it returned nothing. This is expressed in song (vv.1-7), as a series of 6 woes concerning Judah’s bad fruit (vv.8-25) before Judah’s destruction is described (vv.26-30). Jesus is the true vine (John 15).

God's people have rebelled and will perish, but there is hope for a remnant whose sins will be washed away. Jesus fulfils this vision of Isaiah (Luke 4:14-21)

Even though we reap what we sow, our boast is in the cross of Christ alone.
