Jesus comforts his disciples with the certain hope of eternal life, certain path through Christ, and certain promise in him.

Though God put all things under Jesus’ power, he used it to love his own to the end (sacrificial foot washing symbolic of sacrificial death to wash away/forgive our sins).

"training" in the Bible is primarily training godly character, and secondarily training for ministry skills / for service of the body. We should all seek to be trained because we're all supposed to be serving. And that training can happen formally, informally, and by osmosis.
