Today on the Podcast Jason is joined by the legendary Sandy Cohen! For those of you that don’t know, he was a Menominee camper, counselor, and AD, and then, he and his amazing wife Teri were the owners and directors of Camp Marimeta until they recently sold it and retired. For those of you that DO know Sandy, you know that he is just one of the loveliest people on the planet, and a truly special person in the camp community. Jason and Sandy talked about his time at Menominee, how he got to Marimeta, what type of culture he built there, things that only camp owners and directors could talk about, and so much more!

Camp For All Kids - Cocktails Around the Campfire Fundraising Event is October 11th.

Join us at Cocktails Around the Campfire, our annual signature event that combines the traditional elements of a fundraiser with the energy and fun of camp. This will be our second year at Amazing Space @ 625 in downtown Chicago — right off the Kennedy Expressway with easy driving access and complimentary parking. Or take the Metra...it’s also close by. Proceeds from the evening will support our programs which send hundreds of youth to camp each summer.

For this milestone episode of The Camp Cast, Jason sits down the man, the myth the legend, Woody — a stalwart of the CM community since 1987. Over the years, Woody has worn just about every hat at camp, working under three different owners and witnessing firsthand how Menominee has grown and evolved.

In this candid conversation recorded at camp after everything was closed down for the summer, Woody shares stories from his days as a counselor, the wild and unforgettable moments that shaped his journey, and why he keeps coming back summer after summer. Of course, they also dive into all of your favorite Woody-isms, and classic Woody moments.

We hope you enjoy this chance to celebrate Episode 300 with the wisdom, laughs, and legacy of Woody.

Welcome to Season 9 of the Camp Cast! We took a very short break between seasons and we are hitting the ground running with an amazing lineup of guests for the start of our new season. Today on the podcast Jason welcomes camp Caretakers and maintenance extraordinaires Craig Dobson and Joe Stapleton. They talk about their stories of how they got to camp, how they experience Menominee, some of the best and worst stories from the last decade, and much, much more. Enjoy!

On this solo episode of The Camp Cast, Jason closes the book on the unforgettable summer of 2025. With camp now wrapped up, he shares some reflections on what life has looked like since the season ended and gives an update on early buzz around enrollment for 2026. But the heart of this episode is a personal tribute to Thomas C. and Pamela Adler, two beloved figures in the camping world, as they announce their retirement. Jason honors their impact, their legacy, and the ways they’ve shaped generations of campers and camp leaders. Enjoy!
