It is a fundamental of life. Yet instead of unanimous approval, council is split on raising water rates to pay for infrastructure and the cost of treating the water. Expensive increase, yes. Required, yes. Why is this so decisive? Well it is more complicated than it has to be.
My thoughts and opinion alone on a portion of the Executive Meeting of Council October 5, 2028, and the upcoming October 27, 2026 regular meeting of council. Just my opinion.
Ratification of Proposals is at 7pm Glenmore Inn October 28, 2026. If you are going to any meetings, these are the ones.
Spoke on a few items. CDLC Alex was down to speak with us about water and other things concerning council.
October 28, 2026 7pm Glenmore Inn - Ratification of Proposals.
Yes. But you only get to go during work hours if you don't have three hours in a row to vote. 7am - 4:30 = No because polls close at 8pm. 6:30am to 6:30pm = Yes because you would need to vote from 5pm to 8pm to have three hours.
Math.
Here is my process for going through the mail in ballot. I knew how I was going to vote based on reading the questions and deliberating. Took me 8 minutes. If you want to get your mail in ballot, you have unitl Sept 25, 2026.
The missing ballots were number 1 and 2. Frustrating, hoping to be able to get a solution by Monday. Sounds like this happened to others. Called them the day after and they answered. Sending a new pacakge. Sounds like this is happening to others.
As we enter into negotiations I want you to think about the things that go against the collective agreement. Could be a rule you bend, or the corporation ignores. A stipulation that alone doesn't really change anything but collectively could cause harm down the road. Eventually it is found out and either stopped immediately or it gets a discussion. Based on how widely successful it is or how detrimental it could be if other knew it existed. Sometimes it just sits there quietly not hurting anyone.

True voting results happen when people vote. In order to vote you should hear the questions. They are written at a high level and refer to websites that are built on a panel that traveled around Alberta. The stay in Canada question was mutated to included a separatist component that was not part of the question the UCP have carefully crafted through their actions something that doesn't mirror their words Or does it Vote with purpose and participate.
