Canadiens training camp opened with 74 players at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard. Josh Anderson, Jake Evans, Nick Suzuki and Joel Edmundson have been added to the injury list.

The annual Canadiens Red - White intrasquad scrimmage takes place on Sunday afternoon at the Bell Centre. The Canadiens eight-game pre-season schedule begins on Monday vs the New Jersey Devils.

The Trois-Rivieres Lions are preparing for their second season in the ECHL which will get underway on October 21st in T-R.

The Athletic's NHL Pipeline Rankings listed the Buffalo Sabres as first and the Montreal Canadiens ranked seventh. Both rookie teams faced each other at the 2022 Prospects Challenge in Buffalo.

Roster news - Canadiens announced that the Jonathan Drouin annual golf tournament raised $1.1M for the CHUM Foundation. It was reported that one of the options being discussed for Kirby Dach is a 4-year contract at $3.5M AAV.

Habs prospect report - Laval Rocket signed forward Brett Stapley to a one-year, one-way contract. Canadiens prospect Logan Mailloux continues to recover from shoulder surgery. He won't be able to be a full participant in camp.
