Janet and Clio bring you up to date on the situation in La Palma, look ahead to tomorrow when the government will declare the island an official disaster zone, which will be able to free up direct funding to those who are most affected.  Clio also looks at her Covid experiences in both Ireland and England this month - travelling and staying....it's not over by a long shot.

Janet and Clio discuss the latest restrictions coming into force in Tenerife today, updates (or lack of them) on travel to the UK if you've been jabbed here, and now that you can buy an antigen test in a pharmacy here they try to explain just how to do the test at home - don't pee on the stick!

Janet and Clio are joined by Diana McGowan who has blogged recently about the difficulties in trying to travel to the UK when fully vaccinated if the vaccines were administered here, not there!  The three also talk about the state of play here in the islands, the need to change the way we look at Covid stats, and much more. Janet and Clio are back after a short break, comparing the opening up of England with new restrictions on movement here in Tenerife - and both hoping against hope that the English decision to pretty much lift all blocks on freedom of movement within the UK wont' backfire - if it works other countries will follow!

Today we couldn't ignore the domestic violence case that has made international headlines - Anna (1) and Olivia (6), missing from their home in Tenerife, since their father took them and told their mother she would never see them again, on April 27th. Last last week the body of Olivia was found in a weighted bag on the sea-bed.  The courts have opened the case files....and are searching for Anna, and their father Tómas. 

Janet and Clio try to give the teens a bit of a break - and then meander into a chat about local traditional fiestas, whether there will be any this year, and how things are changing for ever, slightly or a lot, but change is a good thing, generally, right?
