In 2006, a poorly written fanfiction with odd grammar and a confusingly unreadable plot captured the attention of the entire Harry Potter fandom. 'My Immortal' garnered good and bad recognition, both from the story itself, but also from the author notes author Tara Gilesbie left for her readers. People all over the internet discussed and analyzed this fic in a way no other fanfiction had before. Was is the quintessential badfic? Was it a teenage girl's cry for attention from strangers online? Just as soon as these questions got to big to be unanswered, 'My Immortal' and its author disappeared from the internet. Over the course of ten years, the fandom searched wide and far for Tara and eliminated individuals who tried to assert authorship over the fic. After dozens of fakes and years of dead leads, hopes ran dry and people moved on. Until one last person shined a spotlight on herself claiming to have authored 'My Immortal' while juggling foster care, discovering her sexuality and searching for her long-lost brother. Now only two questions remained, was Rose Christo really the author of 'My Immortal' and why did it take this long to come forward?

We did it folks! We've hit a milestone more important than any stream and follower count. That's right, we're pulling Maya into the shipping fantasia. She's understanding them, she's loving them, she's finding comfort in them. And this week, she's putting her new love and old love together by giving us the first installment of the increasingly popular, extremely adored fanfiction The Last King. This is a 22 chapter, almost 300,000 word fic that isn't even complete yet, so of course, to do this story justice, Maya's going chapter by chapter until we're completely caught up. So that means you have to stay with us until we get there. *evil laugh* As always, send us your fic recommendations, or reach out if you are a fic author who would like to be interviewed in the future, at [email protected]

Close proximity, bed sharing, huddling for warmth, oh my! We're featuring all of these things in the fic that Sydney has picked out specifically for you all. Equally parts comedy, romance and smut, she hopes you love listening to two Star Wars favorite get trapped inside a home where there's [gasp] only one bed. For this week's bonus-y goodness, we're talking about the good, the bad, and the ugly (minus the good and sometimes the ugly) - villains! That's right, we're talking Loki, Ursula, Deadpool, Jessie and James, Walter White, Sakuna, and so many more. Come with us while we delve into why we are so drawn to the fictional dark side and those faux outlaws who we love to hate (and some we'd love to take to bed).
