Canopy Sounds

Daylight creeps through the canopy of leaves overhanging the whispering stream. Splashes on the rocks resemble ancient melodies moving along the river bed. Medleys of nature fill the morning silence with a peaceful bliss. Time stands still in this desert oasis...

Sitting beneath the billowing branches, leaves fall like relics of the past, allowing their story to be heard one by one. The mountains appear to beckon the sky closer, inviting in the stars and galaxies that lie beyond. Pasts, presents and futures come together and in this moment the universe seems a little bit smaller. Even if only for a moment...

Hands open wide, standing, facing the setting sun, looking outward, looking inward. Colors splash across the sky, as if the final moments of an epic dance. While the waning colors signify the end of a moment, their final shimmer marks the start of something new. Reflections of the past, promises of something new, the cycle continues...

The twilight hour fell over the concrete jungle. Sparkling stars cast a blissful glow across the park and the moon watched from above. The air was calm and peaceful allowing for thoughts to wander, feet to move, and dreams to take hold.

Canopy Sounds continues this week with a unique and groovy hour of music from NYC's, Aquariox

The mix was showcases the groovier minimal side of Aquariox's style that plucks elements from the dream realm and shapes them carefully to the dance floor. An amalgam of the light and airy with a toe tapping tribal bounce designed to keep your head in the clouds and your feet on the move.

As a member of Playdate and Dance Artifakts in NYC, Aquariox has been making the rounds at venues like Output Rooftop, Rose Gold, and Paper Box.

The sun had risen to its peak and the yellow star soaked the beach inhabitants in an encapsulating aura of energy. Rhythmic sounds began to make themselves heard from just beyond the tree line. Shivers and goosebumps could be felt head to toe. The canopy erupted with feelings of love and happiness until the sun went to sleep and the moon rose to celebrate.

Canopy Sounds continues its venture with a sun-drenched patchwork of emotional grooves and rhythms from newcomers and duo, MRCO.

MRCO connected over their mutual love for the more melodic and playful sides of deep house music. One of its members will be debuting brand new original material later on this year that will be sure to evoke feelings summer nostalgia and blissful memories.

Our maiden voyage begins with over one hour of selections from duo, Celestial Strangers.

This sonic venture wades through a myriad of lush melodies, bouncy hooks, and does not forget to nod towards the sonic roots of deep house.

Celestial Strangers' debut EP was released on Akbal in fall of 2017 after much anticipation from the deep and dreamer communities. The EP has been supported by the likes of YokoO, Nick Warren, Damian Lazarus, Audiofly, Lost Desert and more.

A note from Celestial Strangers -

"In this mix we wanted to not only share very emotional tracks but to create a perfect canopy of sounds for a daytime beach party. We just signed with Inakdz Agency from Los Angeles and we will play very soon in the United States. Our second EP is in progress and will be out this summer."
