What does it cost a man to stop striving long enough to receive? Luke Smith and Matt Wordelman — friends from their college football days who reconnected through Canyon Pathways — sit down for an honest Christmas conversation woven around the community's field note on generosity.

Matt's story travels a long arc. It begins with loss: the death of his first love, Heather, in a car accident during his junior year of high school, and the depression and anger he carried silently into college. It moves through a turning point on New Year's Eve 1996 — bags packed on a hotel sidewalk, a shuttle arriving, and a quiet interior voice that said 'you can't get on that bus' — and the moment of conversion that followed when he couldn't get to the front of the room fast enough.
