“Summer in Romans: God of Wonder, Part 2”
Text: Romans 9:14-21, 10:11-13, 11:1-10
Pastor Amanda Lawton returns to share Paul’s message to the church in Rome in chapters 9-11. In His infinite wisdom, God has shown His creation mercy and has given all a chance to make the choice to worship Him above all else regardless of background.

“Summer in Romans: Living in the Spirit”
Text: Romans 8:1-17
In the first half of Romans, chapter 8, Paul makes a good argument for why we have victory through the death and glorification of Jesus Christ. This glorification reaches out to God’s creation who loves and accepts Him and through this, we are heirs of the King of Kings.

Text: Romans 7:14-25a
In Romans 7, Paul speaks about living in a land in which the temptations and the power of sin still seek to enslave us. The struggle to do what is right will always be there but is done recognizing and in hope that God is with us to help align our desires with Him, with Christ’s salvation event on the cross being a present promise of deliverance.

We continue our summer study of Romans with Pastor Amanda Lawton and her daughter Alethea sharing highlights from Nazarene Youth Conference 2026, which was held in Salt Lake City. Many of the conference’s sessions and activities connect with Paul’s writings to turn away from sin towards a righteous life with God.

Text: Romans 6:1-14
This week, the invitation of Paul to the church in Rome to live a life freed from the power of sin through the death and resurrection of Jesus is the same invitation God extends to us. Wherever we have found that sin still reigns, we may turn that over to God and trust Him to work in us because it is not the final word spoken for those who believe in Jesus and received His grace.

Text: Romans 5:12-21
In today’s reading from Romans, Paul tells us that just as sin entered the world through one man in Adam, God’s grace entered the world through one man in Jesus. He is the great showing of God’s faithfulness to His creation. The gift of God’s grace overcomes all our sin.

“Summer in Romans: Justified. Even When…”
Text: Romans 5:1-11
In Romans 5, Paul emphasizes that through faith, we are justified; brought into right relationship with God. It is a gift of the Holy Spirit that says who we are does not have to be defined by just the mistakes that we have made or where we have come from. We can live into the hope of being recipients of God’s love and learning to extend that love to one another.

Summer in Romans: A Faith Called to Be
Text: Romans 4:13-18
God’s promises to Abraham were fulfilled out of nothing when Abraham believed and demonstrated faithfulness. Paul says that those who have faith can share the same promise. In being included with God’s covenant with Abraham, we are called to be a blessing to the world and to live into the promise so that God’s spirit may continue to work through His world.

“Summer In Romans: The Gift of Grace”
Text: Romans 3:21-28, Romans 3:10-18

Continuing in Romans, Paul writes about the grace of God through Jesus as a gift. This is not a one-time gift; instead God is continuously involved in our lives to help make things right and to help us make things right. In response, we should look to model and extend His grace wherever we can.

“Summer In Romans: Finding Ourselves in God’s Saving Grace”
Text: Romans 1:1-7
We begin a new summer sermon series on the book of Romans, where we will learn what it is for our faith to be found in Jesus Christ and what He does for us. In Paul’s introduction he uses language which indicates that his message – words about God’s grace – are for everyone, regardless of their background.
