As Christmas approaches, most have a hope of receiving gifts as expressions of love from gift givers. God gave us an indescribable gift when He gave us Hs son to rescue us from our rebellion and the resulting damage in all our relationships. But He had a hope at Christmas as well, the hope of our response: that we would give Him the gift of our lives in exchange and allow Him to do the supernatural in satisfying our souls now and forever.

The family has been under attack since God first established it. He provides all we need to partner with Him in fighting for His design and desire for family life. We must decide if we will resolve to engage the battle with is armor and on His terms.

God desires that all families would be healthy, happy, and secure. It is His design that the home is built on a marriage whose foundation is Christ and which is empowered by His indwelling Spirit.

As we seek to partner with God in the task of shaping the lives of those in our nuclear family, and the family of faith, we must take hold of the third tool â€" the power of God: His indwelling Spirit.
