Pastor Jon Cathie's message on Resurrection Sunday reflects on the stone covering Jesus' tomb as an obstacle that was set in place, positioned, sealed and guarded and draws parallels with obstacles in our lives.Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices to anoint Jesus' body and then went to the tomb. Nearing the tomb they asked each other, like an afterthought, who would remove the stone for them. When they reached the tomb the stone was already rolled away and an angel told them that Jesus was not there, that he had risen and gone ahead to Galilee. When an obstacle is set in place, positioned, sealed and guarded nothing in the short term is going to remove it. Sometimes we have had obstacles placed in our lives that have been solidly positioned, seemingly sealed and guarded that prevent us from fulfilling our purpose in life. When your focus is on Jesus the obstacle becomes an afterthought.Jesus would take the obstacles in our life to the cross.No obstacle can stand in the way of the resurrected Christ.Not only did he conquer sin, death, hell and the grave but he conquered every type of obstacle that we could possibly face.Jesus has a habit of removing obstacles. In pursuing Jesus we apply ourselves to growing in the knowlege of Jesus and becoming more deeply acquainted with him. In every venture you need to estimate the cost and decide if you are willing to pay the price. Every dream has a process and a price tag. Those who do not follow the process and pay the price only have a dream. Everything you need will come to you, but for those things that you want you have to pursue. God wants us to pursue and catch him.Some religions pursue position through works. Our relationship with Jesus is not based on works. Some seek a visitation experience, but that is fleeting. Seek his manifest presence day to day and achieve habitation through fellowship. Habitation is better than visitation. We get to know Jesus more by allowing him to teach us about him.
