After completing Paintings Of Sound for Paul's Flight, I wanted to go a bit darker and prepared to embark on a Techno mix style Fry Up from my collection over the years. I do miss the Techno events back in the worlds of old, with it almost non-existent here in New Zealand. 

Nine is the theme from music that this forked off from, JungleTechno. Our night of Techno was most Thursdays at Carl Cox's Velvet Underground event in London. There are of course a few crazy Ivans in there, I am Captain, it's expected. It includes a few unreleased Captain numbers that I felt would sit (Madagascar & G&T Rave Up, which I only ever performed live - 10 years ago now). Bootlegging, wrecking, and remixing tracks of many genres in my collection, that I felt deserved an appearance in this darker and more severe Techno Groove. I especially enjoyed salvaging and remixing the 25-year-old tracks in the last 15 mins or so, a real challenge to make these perfect tracks sit 20 bpm slower in a Techno Beat. There was also a live drum and 303 channel over this three-hour journey, and after listening through a couple of times, felt best left pure, and we save these busier skirmishes for the party!

Kaa - My first ever vinyl record was the Jungle Book, so finally I got to mix Kaa into a Techno mix 40 years later. I hope you enjoy this adventure. Hypnotising snake eyes that may change where your journey ends. ⚓

A painting of sound for an amazing human being who becomes everyone’s cherished friend once they have met him. An artist, collector of exotic antiquities, landlord of Cafe Marshmallow the after party Bedford, delivering the best conversations you could ever have, no matter what it’s about. A one of a kind, a true gentleman with on occasion delivery of customs of yesteryear, and caters for all levels with humour and reasoning, sharing experiences and findings that are slowly being forgotten in our world today – an all-nighter specialist of course.

This navigation is for you Paul, for your hearing to spot all the Captain’s nonsense of washing machines, broken ice cream vans, drunken sailors, bar bar ba baar bubub bar bar bars, a journey through the monolith to the angels with Jews Harps! Lots of tales from the deep in there, just like one of your paintings but with sound. The front cover is amongst the favourites of your works that pops out, and I’ll paint a track of the picture once the Ark/ Rave Barn is up. Your creativity in art is second to none, and I love that you have the collection alongside you there in the Little River Glory Whole gallery. The recent artwork has so much detail, does this mean you have cracked the reactions? I’ve seen a few birds knocking about, though no Marks of darkness, only light and possibly portals to another future. So we are clearly not dealing with a mad man!

Don’t stop til it’s over – the show must go on. Eye sure as shit will make sure of it. See you on the other side for the winter solstice 70th Birthday. We did agree on 90, so shall seek antidote and a ticket on the Monolith. No point running up that hill with the Cobra boots on. They speak visions from their own minds and there’s a rainbow in your heart. There ain’t mushroom, come on, watch out for those Barking mad alien rave dogs from Dagenham, just keep on jumping till you see the sun in the sky. Head for the Turkish Bazaar with a passion, it’s behind the Dark Nebula. Take it smart and Freedom can be found. Follow the Carol of the Bells, it’s the one with the burning galleon, our home, which we shall put out if you make it through.

I’ve had a good look through the cover art painting and I’ve titled it the ‘The First Rebirth’, that’s what I see anyway. (This also shares the title with a superb piece of Rave music. The German’s also had the anti-gravity UFOs and the Lost Ark.) 

Forgive me for the vandalism pink version, I had to put it through the X-Ray to check if a forgery. You can’t be too careful these days, we’ve seen ravens about. Never stand downwind. Everybody’s in the plaice, let’s go.

Back in the day, there was pretty much one genre of electronic musical madness, this 3 1/2 hour sail has at least five genres of today’s pigeon racers, I love anything that pushes the boundaries with originality. Yes, there is some happy cheese in there… Plays well against a few daunting dis chords in-between.

Except for a single, very powerful radio emission aimed at Jupiter, the four million-year-old black monolith has remained completely inert, its origin and purpose still a total mystery. "Jacinda's 30th Birthday" - The 6 Hour DJ Voyage. A journey of House, Minimal, Tech House, Techno, Acid, Psy Prog and Psychedelic Trance with live acid, synths and drums over the top!

This is 6 hours of the 12 hours DJ'ed. Then after an hour break, summoned to go back on for another 3 hours! There was even a Katy Perry Medley for the kids before this mix! ...Fun times at Applewood Manor.
