Capturing the Killer
News of the Times Episode 322 | 1786
1783 England. In today’s episode we look at two cases from 1873 where the emphasis is on catching the killer.
In our first case, it is mid day and Mary is walking along the path on her way to do some tasks. Martin Laas, spots her, follows her, and accosts her for money. Mary declines. The brutal murder that follows on from the robbery entails stripping her naked and jumping on her to death in a ditch.
Our second case told in the papers focuses on the clever way the murderer has been caught. The publican’s daughter, sent on a task requested by her father, is followed by a customer, robbed and killed. But this murderer has a dog. The murderer’s own dog is used to catch him.
Two cases from 1783 on capturing a killer is today’s episode of Murderous Mondays.
We hope you enjoy the show!
Hosted by Robin Coles.
