Card Talk

In this episode of Card Talk, we discuss the core set staple, Unexpected Courage. It's a great card. You should join us in a thought experiment. Name a deck that you don't use this card.

CON OF THE RINGS ANNOUNCEMENT!!

Today we have John Rogers on the show making the first official announcement for Con of the Rings 2020. He explains what's the same, what's new, and of course, what the quests will be. It's an exciting time to be a part of the community

We also spend some time talking about The Long Defeat. This lore attachment is not a power card, but we spend the last half of the show talking about how good this card really is.

Mark has an artist's eye and pays attention to detail. In this episode we talk to u/RiddermarkLord about all the alternate art he does and publishes on Reddit, free for the community to consume. He publishes all his work on his flickr account which you can find here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/7876498@N07/albums/72157711123410156/page1 These alt art cards are by RiddermarkLord, and all original art is own by the individual artists who created them. This art is not being distributed for profit but Card Talk or by RiddermarkLord. Original art credit and detailed descriptions can be found on the flickr page above.

Back from our Couples February content, we tackle this card from early in the game. The iconic scene in Fellowship is captured here in a thematic sense. Ted was the one who suggested the card so join us as we hear what Ted has to say about this card from his latest playthroughs.

COUPLES FEBRUARY!!! We end our amazing month with the best couple in the game, Caleb and Matt. Both of these guys have been integral in the design of the game since early on and without them, this game would have fallen into the abyss with Gandalf and the Balrog. Thank you to both for taking time out of their day to chat with us.

COUPLES FEBRUARY!!! What month celebrating couples in the game would be complete without having Brandon come on the show and talk about his OTP, Boromir. He's had a man crush on this card since it was spoiled and still holds it close to his heart. For those who don't know, Brandon is the creator of Cardboard of the Rings and, really, was the face of the community online for many, many years. Lastly, for the record, he created his own art for the cover of this podcast!

COUPLES FEBRUARY!!! As our special month draws to a close, we have a couple that behaves very similarly to the way I am with my daughters. It's a father-child Valentine! Theodred and Theoden really work well together to get a kickstart a Rohan deck going, but just getting it going can be the hard part. Please enjoy!
