CARDBOARD CHRONICLES EPISODE 59
with Mike

I was joined by Mike today and if you're looking for him you won't find him. He has zero social media accounts and does all his collecting through eBay. Mike talks about diversity in collecting and not just focusing on one player  or one era or even one sport. Mike collects anything and everything from Hockey RPAs to vintage baseball Jackie Robinson.

We also discuss the forgotten era of sports and cards with the big man in basketball. There are lots of great discussions about collecting more established players in a hobby filled with the latest hyped player.

In this interview I chatted with Ray @manilacardcollector from the Philippines. Ray mostly collects high end LeBron James cards. He talks about collecting in the Philippines and how important the community is to him in the hobby.

Ray shows off some of his big cards and discusses his plans for the future of his collection. He also talks about his fandom of the NBA and how that connects him to the cards.

I finally have made my return with an in-person interview with Michael Coleman or @coleman_cards on IG. Michael was kind enough to join me at my home and we had a blast talking the hobby.

He recently started working with cards full time so he explains how he was able to do that and deal with the stress and also balance it with his Tracy McGrady PC.

Michael has been extremely successful with Luka Doncic cards and recently was able to obtain his ultra rare Gold Prizm RC /10...considered by many to be his best rookie card. "A bartender should not own this card in 2019" was the quote from Michael. But through hard work and understanding the Luka market he was able to make it a reality.

In this interview I had the pleasure of speaking with the Co-founder of StockX, Josh Luber. StockX recently entered the sports card market with their release of the sports card collectible category on their platform. Josh will give us the background on their entrance into the hobby and tell us what's in store for the future.

https://stockx.com/trading-cards

The sports collecting hobby has been getting used to this new platform so I thought it would be most valuable to everyone to speak with Josh directly.

He even has a major announcement to make on the channel regarding his company. They are partnering with Topps to launch the first ever trading card IPO with a new baseball prospects Bowman Chrome product.

The IPO will close on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. ET. The details can be found here: https://stockx.com/news/topps/

And please don't forget to check out https://howtocollectcards.com/ to learn more about entering the hobby and where to get started!

I brought back Tom, the guest who currently has the most views of any of my videos and we talk investing and flipping cards in the year 2019. We recap what we talked about last time and progress of our flipping results. We discuss Zion mania and we of course talk about what's on the horizon for making money in the sports card hobby.
