Cardboard Chronicles

In this episode I talk with Jake, a fellow youtuber in the basketball card community. Jake tells us some great stories from his childhood as a collector and awesome cards he's picked up over his years in the hobby. He primarily focuses on breaking 90s packs on his channel so we get a sneak peak into that as well.

In this episode I chat with Justin (AlabamaSlamma) about the current hot topic of the hobby, altered cards. With the recent news of LeBron RPA cards being discovered as trimmed it's taken over the hobby so I bring in an expert on these types of cards to discuss what's going on and how we as a community can solve the problem. We also help you protect yourself from being duped by an altered card.

I'm honored to have the great Kiki on my show for an exclusive interview. Kiki is a legend in the hobby. He has one of the best collections of Kobe Bryant and has been an influential part of the hobby for years. We talk about Kiki's extensive collection, passion for the hobby and he tells us some crazy stories that he's gathered through the years. This is one you don't want to miss.

In this episode Chris tells us two crazy pickup stories for his best Michael Jordan cards. Then we get deep into the analysis of the Michael Jordan market and some cards we think might go up in value in the near future.

Then we talked about how the economic recession may affect card prices and the emotional attachment to the cards, especially Jordan collectors. And yes, we talk some Prizm and Luka Doncic.

Lou, lgpsportscards, sat down with me to bring some fun new topics to the table. First we talked about the growing hobby of hockey collecting, specifically Connor McDavid, a young phenom in the sport. Lou has an absolutely incredible collection of the 21 year old MVP. He also showed us 3 Brady championship ticket /100 RC Auto cards. Insane.

Finally, we discussed all the new offerings from PWCC and Lou's opinions on them. He talks about his future plans with PWCC and expanding into vintage collecting.

In this episode I interviewed Tom. Tom enjoys purchasing cards for the purchase of flipping them and also investing in certain cards for longer periods of times. He has some cards in his PC but enjoys the thrill of moving cards in and out of his collection to make some extra money to fund his PC. He gives us some pointers to make it a successful venture and even has threads for you to follow along with his progress.

In this episode I spoke with John (formerly known as slobbythegreat), a super-collector of Scottie Pippen. He has arguably one of the best player collections in the world. John has been out of the hobby for over 3 years because of the greed and negativity he views in the hobby. He's a legend in the hobby and is known for cracking cards out of slabs because he enjoys the beauty of the cards by themselves.

In this episode I sit down with Josh Dawson, the owner of the number 2 ranked collections of both LeBron James and Michael Jordan in the PSA Registry. Josh has been collecting for about 20 years with only a short break during college and picked up many of his key pieces before the prices blew up. He owns probably the most important modern basketball card, the LeBron Exquisite RPA /99 and he lets us take a look.

This week I spoke with Stephen, a collector from Boston. Stephen uses his love of the game to fuel his passion for collecting his favorite athletes. He talks about why he collects certain players and refuses to overpay for guys like Jayson Tatum.

I brought back Adam from my first episode to talk about market manipulation in the hobby. We discuss how to recognize a card being manipulated and how to avoid falling into the trap. As two guys who love the hobby we also ramble on about several other fun topics and show off some of our favorite cards.

Galactic!!
