The  Secondary Progressions it is a Symbolic time tool, that I liken to a genetic coded script. The aspects formed and sign changes or motion changes will happen  regardless of whether there is an opportunity or conditions in real time to support the unfolding.

Tools besides  Astrology Software will be the Ephemeris “the bible before computers” which can give you a quick guide to Secondary Progressions. Jill and I will demo this technique today.

Today Jill and I will introduce a technique that we both use. Solar Arc Directions  (SAD) use “symbolic time” to advance the natal chart forward by the  daily Speed of the Sun.  In hindsight SAD can con firm a birth time  legitimacy. For forecasting I would use it to suggest activities and  areas in life that could benefit or to be mindful of. We give two  examples; Canada and the actress Emma Watson.

In recent years the Indigenous peoples of North America have risen up to claim back their heritage and demand to be heard! The Colonizers need to bear witness to the hubris that lead to the suffering of the first People, to make amends and to support the healing that must happen.

What Astrological Symbolism can be seen in such a history, that is my question today?

Our Talk on Planets, or who is standing on your stage and where  continues this week with Uranus, Neptune and Pluto… Since the discovery  of these outer Planets, which cannot be seen by the naked eye, Astrology  has had to under go major revision. This process is still on going and  of course now we have thousands of objects with orbits so you could  literally fill your whole chart with Actors. Not recommend, by the way!   We will look at the big three to start.

In the last Show we got as far as the “Inner Planets and the Lights” Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus. This week we will Start with the social Planets Mars Jupiter and Saturn. As a suggestion I would recommend finding a printout of a Table of Dignities, which can be found on many Astrology Web sites …. These are a quick guides to happy or not, Planets in your nativity. As the first step in this process remember a poorly placed Planet can have mitigating factors to bring it up to easier functioning. A reminder too that depending on why and how you are viewing the actors on the stage, not all of them are you (Hellenistic).

Our next step is to look at how  happy/helpful/challenging/or even downright hostile! the Actors on the Stage are. Their conditions effects where they are and what they rule. There have been attempts to quantify these conditions but one must acknowledge that not all all conditions are of the same kind. As one Astrologer put it, if you add a bicycle with a car with a tractor you will not get a truck!

With the discovery of the outer planets the traditional scheme was amended to include Uranus Pluto and Neptune. In Modern times this change was accepted and studied. Recently with the translations of ancient astrology text  debates happened, and  are still on as to the new schemes validity. Jill and are on opposite sides of this scenario and see it rather as a personal choice.
