This week, let’s focus on a new future for your Agile practice. If you’re unhappy with the status quo, where agility has gotten stuck in endless frameworks, roles, certifications, and tired routines. This episode is for you. We explore Forge Genesis, a project that’s taken shape from persistent questions about what comes next, especially for those of us craving true career freedom and impact outside of traditional frameworks and job opportunities.
Agile has reached an inflection point. Framework fatigue has set in. Companies are growing skeptical, and the market is crowded with followers rather than leaders. We believe that just doing what’s written—or expected—is no longer enough. More and more, we face resistance: anti-Agile bosses, managerial pushback, a return to rigid control. Organizations are searching for consistency and predictability, but we know the real breakthroughs happen when we embrace change and tackle new problems head-on, not when we play it safe.
So we’re turning away from the “employee mindset”—titles, roles, job definitions—and looking at what we need to become: builders, entrepreneurs, problem-solvers ready to spot real needs, craft solutions, and bring those ideas to those who crave them. The skills that serve this mission aren’t just the ones you find in Agile manuals. It’s about communicating a vision, connecting with real needs, testing assumptions, marketing new offerings, and having the courage to take a risk. That’s the path to true career freedom. We want to help people step beyond the familiar and begin shaping products, services, or movements that truly matter—inside or outside traditional organizations.
Not that everyone needs to quit their job and go solo. But if you do feel called to create, to lead a new way, or to focus your hard-won expertise on problems that excite you, you need more than just Agile know-how. You need the entrepreneurial skills to identify and connect with people who need what you can offer. That’s where Forge Genesis comes in.
So many people I’ve met have something to offer. A service. A product. Content. Expertise they’ve gained and honed through years in the field. It could be time to take your idea to market and have career freedom. But unless you know how to do the icky stuff – selling, communicating, marketing, branding, finding an audience – you’ll be stuck with an audience of one. You’ll lose hope and go back to the regular full-time or contract scrum master/coach positions (which are vanishing fast!)
This episode is an invitation to find—or create—the arena where you can be most useful, influential, and fulfilled. Whether you’re itching to found your own venture, start a new consortium, or even revolutionize Agile education, we’ll be here to guide you through the mindsets and moves that make it real.
