Multiply Your Mentorship
Your growth can be accelerated when you multiply your mentorship - but did you know there are different kinds? In today's episode, I talk about the 4 types of mentorship and how they can help you boost your career growth.
Most people are aware of the mentor and mentee relationship, but it doesn't stop there! You can expand your network and accelerate your growth by using more advanced approaches.
Tune in now to find out which of the 4 mentorship types is right for you and learn how to expand your network!
Chapters
[01:29]
The first type of mentorship is the mentor and mentee relationship.
[02:16]
From individual tasks to larger projects or programs, mentors can offer great guidance and direction.
[03:49]
What happens in a mentor and mentee relationship?
[05:30]
The second type of mentorship is with multiple mentors, but in separate, individual sessions.
[08:05]
Having multiple, individual mentors helps you determine your compatibility with each.
[09:29]
The third type of mentorship is group mentoring with a single mentee.
[10:57]
One key benefit of group mentoring is that conversations and guidance can expand based on the content discussed.
[13:13]
Start out with a one on one mentor and mentee relationship and see how it goes. You can expand to multiple mentors over time.
[14:22]
Our fourth and final mentorship topic is co-mentoring.
[14:58]
As a mentor, be careful to watch out for signs of becoming overbearing and dominating the conversation.
[16:17]
How do you get a co-mentoring session started?
[18:39]
Co-mentoring requires both mentors to be open to give and take. This means being open to constructive feedback!
