10 rules to prevent fraud.

1. Be wary of offers that seem too good to be true. There are no guaranteed get-rich-quick schemes.

2. Don’t rush into new offers or deals.

3. Check their credentials before sending money or signing documents.

4. Never send money to unknown individuals or use payment methods you aren’t sure about.

5. Keep your banking and personal information safe, secure, and protected.

6. Access websites directly rather than through links in emails and texts.

7. Look for evidence of a company’s legitimacy, not just testimonials.

8. Get legal or independent advice for offers involving money, time or commitment.

9. If you spot a scam, or have been scammed, report it. Scammers are clever, so don’t feel embarrassed.

10. Reporting helps to prevent others from being deceived.

11. If you have been a victim of sextortion, call 101 immediately.
