This is an important series for all caregivers to understand the journey that you are in presently or just becoming a caregiver. We cannot do this series with your help. If we can help one caregiver that would be just a wonderful reward for all the caregivers that have been interview by me (Jeanne White) Lets become a tribe of helping all caregivers. Why are we on this earth? My thought is to help our fellow human beings. We cannot do this alone.

The show today is Validating Peoples Feelings.  Caregivers hear so much on handling being a caregiver.  Everyone has an opinion. Perhaps people feel uncomfortable on what to say. Perhaps we say things that do not sound right when speaking to a caregiver. Unless you are walking in their shoes you have no idea what is going on in their life on a daily basis. Betsy talked about the Clock they use as a test. Dr said even if they knew what the test showed, there is still nothing he could do.  Are all Dr's clueless to what they are saying.  Giving no Hope to the Individual and their Family.  One would wonder.  This is an excellent audio by Betsy.  No matter what, Betsy ask questions for the many that are just starting their journey as a caregiver.  You have to keep pressing for more answers and help.

Betsy talks about how she is not able to light the Menorah Candles at Hanukkah. One reason the fear that Matt may try to touch the candles. So some of her friends will light the Menorah for her. There are so many things you may have to be aware of to keep your loved ones safe at the holidays.

Not every Caregiver many have the same demands. Family and Friends can help with supporting the Caregiver in so many ways. Betsy talks about helping from the family, friends and your place of Worship.. There are many celebration in one's life time and a wedding anniversary is one of them. Your spouse has no idea what day it is let know that it is their Wedding Anniversary. How should friends and families wish you a Happy Anniversary. Alzheimer's is like a steamroller and rolls out one's memory.

At this stage for Matt has lost many of his skills. eating, dressing, showers, brushing his teeth all that we take for granted. Betsy has to now handled all these skills for the man she deeply loves. It is very painful to watch this happening and knowing that Matt is fading away.

Taking nothing for granted, a new outlook on life and to live in the moment because that is all we have. Betsy also will talk about not worrying what is going to happen next week or next year. You learn how to pick your battles. Betsy talks about much more in her interview
