  • The Secrets Of Essential Oils.... Magical Effects
Unlike eating a plant or a flower, using essential oils involves inhaling or absorbing the plant essence via the natural oils. They are highly concentrated and therefore very powerful in the therapeutic benefits department. We access these benefits primarily in two ways, inhalation and absorption. When we inhale the fragrance from vaporized essential oils we take into our bodies the healing molecules. We can also absorb oils through our skin where they make their way into the bloodstream and take immediate effect.
To test the theory just take a bath with lavender oil. Put a few drops of the oil on some epsom salts first, to help evenly distribute it since oil and water don’t mix. The hot water will cause some of the oils to vaporize and be inhaled. Some will also be absorbed into the body. After a lavender infused bath you will feel tranquil, relaxed, happy, and less stressed. Different oils do different things…that is the magic of essential oils.
But maybe you think the idea is a bit “out there” or that it is some modern fad. You would be wrong in thinking so. Essential oils are among man’s first medicine.Ancient writings show that they were used to treat illness dating back to 4500 BC. Egyptian hieroglyphs depict the blending of various oils and they describe recipes. Oils were so highly prized that tomb raiders would pass over gold and choose to take heavy jars filled what they considered to be precious oils. Peasants and slaves used herbs for health and healing because that is all they could afford or find. Queens, kings, and pharaoh’s used essential oils. It is perhaps for this reason that essential oils are not as widely known for their healing properties as herbs are…because they weren’t widely available to the common folk.

  • Rastafari Nyahbinghi, Niyabinghi, Niyahbinghi, ritual drumming
Nyabinghi, also Nyahbinghi, Niyabinghi, Niyahbinghi, is a form of ritual drumming performed as a communal meditative practice in the Rastafarian tradition in Jamaica. Like many facets of Rastafari, it evolved from the drum ceremonies that enslaved African people of various ethnic groups brought with them to Jamaica. As the country grew more industrialized throughout the late 19th century and early 20th century, Nyabinghi songs were celebrated only among followers of the Rastafarian practice (based on mythology about Ethiopia and a very different interpretation of the Bible from the Judeo-Christian status quo), while most Christian-indoctrinated Jamaicans saw the Afrocentric drum and chant ceremonies as primitive and backward. Nowadays, Nyabinghi is used mainly as a term for a certain sect of Rastas , as opposed to just the rhythm or the music

  • Hon. Edward Seaga his contribution to Jamaica and how he will be remembered
    1. Has a passion for nature and its creatures, especially dogs and birds. Until recently, he had as many as eight dogs, and losing some because of natural transition left him in a state of deep grief.
    5. Is stimulated by music, particularly the classics and the grand opera. But Jamaican popular music (reggae) holds a very special place. He played a role in the early emergence of Jamaican music, selling his record-producing company (West Indies Records Ltd) when he became involved in politics full-time. He still has a large record collection of music, including folk.
    6. Played six different sports during his attendance at Wolmer's High School and Harvard University. Since those days, he has transferred his interest from being participant to that of administrator and an avid supporter, spectator, serving as chairman of the Premier League Clubs Association and the Professional Football Association of Jamaica.
    7. In public life, his strongest motivational drive was the fight against injustice. This was the background motive which urged him to get agreement on a number of reforms on human rights and freedom.
    8. His biggest thrill in public life is the development of new institutions (like HEART Trust/NTA, the Urban Development Corporation, Devon House, etc), redeveloping waterfront areas (Kingston, Ocho Rios and Negril) and drafting landmark policies to solve serious problems of corruption and malpractice (the Contractor General and Public Defender).
    10. Has been dubbed an enigma by admirers and detractors. From a political point of view, was labelled a socialist and a capitalist at different times because of his emphasis on the poor while advocating for increasing opportunities for wealth creation.
