  • Th e Love Doctor Saturday Mix Musical Interlude 90's Lovers Rock
Love....Four letters that cause great joy..and much pain depending on whether it is Returned in like or is unrequited. It gives great drive to many to do their best in hopes of impressing and winning over the one they love.
One big misconception is that we are ruled by our hearts in this regard... Totally wrong. Our hearts are nothing but an organ that pumps our blood and keeps us alive. Love is fed by our minds and our emotions and our needs and wants.
We do indeed choose who we attach our emotions to...rightfully so or tragically so. We ... our conscious mind makes that choice much as we wish to blame our heart as we have been programmed to believe in all the romanticism fed to us.
Love... who we love..when we love...and how we love is up to us and our choices. We are wholly responsible for all we do in that regard. We make a conscious decision to allow our emotions to attach to a person in our romanticized thought processing.
When all seems to be going haywire in the relationship and our rational mind says bail out now...we tend to lean on the romantic notion that we can fix it all to work. Logic takes a backseat...our decision..not the heart's which is probably cussing out the brain and emotions for endangering it's welfare by putting the body through so much stress and tension.
Love is to be enjoyed and shared with respect, tenderness kind words and actions. Failing to acquire these tenets from a prospective partner .. have the good sense to bail before you get so involved it becomes a pariah on your existence to continue being around someone you have come to detest who denigrates you. Choices...it is what separates us from the other creatures..the ability to reason and become proactive towards our own welfare.
    Choose wisely...Love Wisely.

  • Susan Cadogan like you never heard her before reggae Queen telling here Story
Cadogan is the daughter of singer Lola Cadogan, who released several 78rpm singles of devotional music during the 1950s. She spent several years of her childhood in Belize, where her family had moved, before returning to Jamaica. She worked as an assistant librarian, taking a job in the library of the University of the West Indies at Mona. Her talents as a singer led to her recording her first single, "Love My Life" for Jamaican Broadcasting DJ Jerry Lewis, who was the boyfriend of one of Cadogan's schoolfriends. Lee "Scratch" Perry was in the recording studio at the time, and was impressed by Cadogan's voice enough to record an album's worth of material with her, also renaming her Susan.
One of her first recordings for Perry, a cover of Millie Jackson's soul hit, "Hurt So Good" (featuring bassist Boris Gardiner and the Zap Pow horns), was released to little effect in Jamaica on Perry's new 'Perries' record label, but was released in the UK by Dennis Harris's DIP International label, and topped the UK Reggae Chart. Magnet Records picked up the single and it went on to reach the top 5 of the UK Singles Chart, with Cadogan flying to London to promote the single, including a television appearance on Top of the Pops. Cadogan then signed directly to Magnet, who issued the official follow-up, the Pete Waterman produced "Love Me Baby", which reached number 22 in July 1975, but was her last UK hit Perry, meanwhile, arranged with the Birmingham based label Black Wax to release an unofficial follow-up - a remixed version of "Love My Life". Other singles were released on Klik and Lucky in an attempt to cash in, but none of these charted.

  • "no angels died at Green Bay" Looking at DUDLEY THOMPSON the man you never knew
Known as one of Jamaica's finest lawyers of his generation, Thompson was a firebrand minister of national security and Member of Parliament under the Michael Manley-led People's National Party regime of the 1970s.
Thompson, a Mico College Rhodes Scholar, also served as Minister of Foreign Affairs during the period, and later ambassador and high commissioner to several African countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, and Namibia.
He had lived in Florida for several years and was in New York to attend a meeting when he died.
His infamous statement that 'no angels died at Green Bay' following the killing of five civilian supporters of the Jamaica labour Party by local army personnel at a firing range in the hills of St Catherine in 1977 caused much controversy.
The Green Bay massacre occurred 34 years ago on January 5, 1978. Five men from Gold Street and Higholborn Street in the Central Kingston community of Southside were lured into an ambush at the Jamaica Defence Force firing range and shot dead.
They had gone there based upon a promise of getting jobs. Among the five killed was outstanding former Santos Football Club and Jamaica midfielder Norman 'Gutto' Thompson.
