  • Dating vs Courting
The main difference between dating and courtship involves the goals to be reached by spending time with a potential marriage partner. Men and women who choose to date often have no commitment to consider marrying the other person. Maturity and readiness for marriage are not considerations in the decision to date. According to the Institute in Basic Life Principles (iblp.org)
Courtship is a relationship between a man and a woman in which they seek to determine if it is God’s will for them to marry each other. Under the protection, guidance, and blessing of parents or mentors, the couple concentrates on developing a deep friendship that could lead to marriage, as they discern their readiness for marriage and God’s timing for their marriage. (See Proverbs 3:5–7.)

ROOTS artiste Keith Poppin earned a reputation in the early 1970s as having one of the smoothest voices in reggae. In 1973, Poppin (born Keith Smith) released his first solo single called Same Thing for Breakfast, which became his signature piece.Previously, he was a member of the Rocking Horse band. The song earned him recognition by topping the Jamaican chart as well as ethnic charts in Britain. One year later, he scored another hit with Envious.Throughout the 1970s, Poppin maintained a steady flow of quality songs including Someday Girl, Why Make Believe, Whenever There is Moonlight, and Who are You, which made the British national chart in 1976.In 1980, Poppin became the first act signed to reggae star Peter Tosh’s Intel-Diplo record label but after Tosh’s death in 1987, he took a break from recording, though he appeared twice in the Popular Song Contest.During the early 1990s, Poppin moved into producing other acts and promoting stage shows with his company Jungle Lion. • I was just thinking...Why are we being kicked out of our neighborhoods?
I grew up in a black community. In the morning my father along with 99% of the black men in our neighborhood, rose early in the morning for work in the San Franicsco bay area. Most black families owned their homes due to the G.I Bill and other programs for veterans.
Today, we are being forced out of our home by taxes, joblessness and not being abel to maintain and upgrade our home and we have been forced to join the ranks of poverty renters. Is this part of the plan to divide and conquer and dilute black voices?
    PBS News wrote:
No one is more vulnerable to the effects of gentrification than renters. When prices go up, tenants are pushed out, whether through natural turnover, rent hikes, or evictions. When buildings are sold, buyers often evict the existing tenants to move in themselves, combine several units, or bring in new tenants at a higher rate. When residents own their homes, they are less vulnerable, and may opt to "cash them in" and move elsewhere. Their options may be limited if there is a regional housing shortage, however, and cash does not always compensate for less tangible losses.
Let's talk about the urban removal or Gentirification or as it is know today black removal from ur citeis and urban centers.

"1) seeks fair (re)distribution of resources, opportunities, and responsibilities;2) challenges the roots of oppression and injustice;3) empowers everyone to exercise self-determination and realise their full potential; and 4) builds solidarity and community capacity for collaborative action.""Political leaders, or the phenomenon around them, and social causes often cannot be fully explained or understood with one or two labels. Much depends on the lenses of the onlooker impacted by the perspective from which they come".excerpt from jamaica observer columnist  Grace VIRTUE.
THE campaign to posthumously exonerate Marcus Mosiah Garvey is a noble and constructive effort by his family, the Universal Negro Improvement Association, and others to exculpate him from a wrongful conviction, while mobilising public sentiment in support of his life, legacy, and the ideals for which he was falsely imprisoned. As an extension of Garvey's personal quest to repudiate this travesty of justice, we consider it our inherent right and moral obligation to hold the Government accountable for correcting this shameful act of injustice. While we concede that we best vindicate his name by demonstrating the soundness of his ideas and the infallibility of his logic, we must never forsake any opportunity to unequivocally denounce this egregious injustice and demand its judicious redress.(  columnist jamaica observer Mwariama KAMAU) caribbeanradioshow.com crsradio.com call in 661-467-2407
