  • Should those who served prison time punished further by society when Released?
It's a serious subject that has come up a lot recently that I find fascinating. Should those who have served time in prison after being convicted of a crime, any crime, be punished further when it comes to moving on?
Now, I am not here to defend the crime that they committed nor am I going to ignore the thoughts of the victims. The story here (link below) is about whether a recently convicted rapist, whose profession is a footballer (soccer player), should be hired back by his previous club or not there for going back to his job.
This is where it gets tricky and I can see clearly why there is a split in opinions when it comes to this matter. On one side, he has been found guilty of rape, he has been rehabilitated, served his time in prison and will be released later this year, set to be put back into life outside of prison. It's what the law and prison system is about in this country (UK). Those who have committed a crime are sentenced, done their time given and set by the judge, has been rehabilitated and finished his sentence and now sent back into society. Working, paying bills, paying taxes, etc.http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/528.858001-Should-those-who-have-served-their-time-in-prison-after-a-conviction-still-be-punished

  • Hot Topic :"What do you bring to the table?" are you upset if asked by a Partner
This Sunday, CaribbeanRadio Show we will discuss, the hot question - "What do you bring to the table?" 8pm - 10pm dial in 661-467-2407, press 1 to talk or through the
Ladies, have you ever been asked this question? It made me a little upset. Why are you calling me and then asking what do I bring to the table?
Many times people say they know what they are looking for in a relationship, a spouse. Women and men say I want a person who makes a certain amount of money, has a certain job, looks a certain way, good credit, nice car, and educated. Someone who can help me accomplish my goals in life. There is nothing wrong with wanting certain characteristics in a mate. And there is nothing wrong with wanting someone who can help you accomplish your goals in life. Most of these however, are outward things. And if that is who you are, then you need to recognize that is who you are. Are you bringing the same or equal qualities to the relationship, to the table?
You meet a person, and they have the job, money, education, credit and the looks you want. Well let’s say they have most of the qualities you are looking for; and you get married. Then lhappens, and maybe someone gains weight, loses hair, job/career changed, credit gets damaged, had to down size the car. Now the rubber is meeting the road. Is this relationship built on sand or on rocks? What is the foundation of the relationship?

  • Easter Sunday Holiday Music and praises with Rula Brown
Easter in Jamaica is a very popular time of year. The holiday was introduced to the island around the 17th century by the Europeans who brought with them their religion, Christianity. During the slavery period, the enslaved Africans were given a day off in observance of this Easter holiday. However, it was not until the 19th century, when missionaries were active in the island, that the slaves really referred to the holiday as Easter and understood its significance.
In Jamaica over the years, the one-day holiday grew to be a four to five day observance, beginning with Holy Thursday and continuing until the following Monday, known as Easter Monday. Some Christian denominations use this time to observe the death and resurrection of Christ.
Like any other holiday, Easter is associated with several traditions. Probably the most common feature of Easter in Jamaica is the eating of bun and cheese. Easter buns in Jamaica are made with lots of spices, dried fruits and stout. The dough is shaped in the form of a loaf, which when baked, is wrapped in cellophane paper and sometimes packed in decorative boxes.

  • Live:Healthy You and I-Minerals, its function and the link to Aromatherapy
'Minerals, its function and the link to Aromatherapy'
Essential oil (except for a few exceptions) should never be used undiluted on the skin, and needs to be mixed with a carrier oil (also referred to as a base oil) to dilute the concentrated molecules and to help spread them over the surface of the skin, and this is done by diluting them in carrier oils. These oils are normally obtained by cold pressing and is inert - and not volatile as essential oils.
As a rule of thumb, you would normally need about 30 ml of carrier oil to perform a full body massage.
When essential oils are being used, they are mostly used in aromatherapy massage, since the ingestion of pure essential oils falls within the medical science gambit, and must not be undertaken by the lay person.

  • I was just thinking....Can we talk about ISRAEL? Part 2
What is Israel and who are the Isrealites? Are they the Jews or Israeli's? Did they really exist?
The word or concept of Israel is a loaded term. In most of the world it invokes a mysticism that has been attributed to a God ordained establishment for the nation. Three of the major religions have a religious connection to the concept of through the God of the Bible as chronicled by the writers of the Torah, Bible and Quran.
Whether we believe in the God of the Bible or not we all have been forced to accept a concept of Israel and Judaism and now Zionism and the Jews as the 'chosen people' set-apart above all humanity. But is that true?
Tonight we are going back in the past to find out who and what Israel is and who the Jews are and more importantly...do they have a legitimate claim on the land and the history.

  • Live Reggae Round Round Table chat: R.I.P. Record Store Day or can it be saved?
R.I.P. Record Store Day or can it be saved?Let me preface this post by stating that I LOVE Record Stores.  I WANT Record Stores to succeed.  I LOVE the spirit that Record Store Day originally championed.  I don't want Record Store Day to go away, but there are too many glaring issues that stores don't get to publicly mention and I've been asked to help be a voice for those that are afraid to speak up, for fear of retribution.
Ever since March 20th, when the official lists for Record Store Day have come out, you've seen some minor rumblings of a backlash towards Record Store Day.  It has started to gain traction, received national attention and was very upsetting to those behind Record Store Day.  But the problem is, if this stuff doesn't get discussed, how else can it get out?  Not everything can or should be discussed behind closed doors--sometimes transparency is needed.
I made a post last year about some tweaks that were needed for Record Store Day here.  Because in talking to as many stores as I do, I could see this coming.  I was hoping that some of these issues would be fixed, but sadly we are now at the end of the road and two things are getting ready to happen:
    a) Record Store Day is going to kill itself due to abundance of product b) Record Store Day is going to be abandoned by the very stores/artists/labels it was setup to promote
So what are some of the fundamental problems going on in the industry that will help kill Record Store Day:http://new-vinyl.blogspot.com/2014/04/rip-record-store-day-or-can-it-be-saved.html
