Car(Line) Talk: A Coram Deo Academy of Dallas Podcast

This episode answers the questions: What is Piety? What is Paideia? What do they have to do with one another?

Our host Jon Jordan is also joined by several Logic school students for a special segment called "An Intellectual Conversation About a Random Sentence from a Random Page in a Random Book!"

Welcome to Piety and Paideia: a podcast about Classical Education and Christian Formation brought to you by Coram Deo Academy, and sponsored by Communion Neighborhood Cooperative in Richardson, TX. I am your host, Jon Jordan, and I am the Logic School Principal at Coram Deo Academy’s Dallas campus and a pastor here in town as well.About once a month we will release short episodes about one aspect of Classical Education, and how it relates to Christian formation. Each episode will include tangible ideas for applying that episode’s topic to your own context, whether you are formally involved in Classical Education or not.

Mr. Jon Jordan continues our new CDA Dallas Fall Lecture series with a talk on Virtue and Social Media.

Christian Virtue could be understood as the patient acquisition of holy habits that is started, sustained, and finally accomplished by God’s grace in each of our lives. All of us, including our students, are becoming virtuous. Thousands of small, daily choices are molding us into who we will become.

In light of this reality, what role does Social Media play in our development as virtuous humans? What impact, positive or negative, does daily interaction with the digital world have on our souls? What can we do as parents, and as a school, in light of these questions?

Mr. Jon Jordan kicks off our new CDA Dallas Fall Lecture series with a talk on Classical Christian Education. This session is aimed towards helping us all understand—and be able to talk about—Classical Christian education better than we do now.
