En: The office was buzzing that summer morning in São Paulo.

En: The sound of Carnaval echoed through the streets, almost like a call to those trapped at their desks.

En: Telling Mariana, his manager, would mean admitting they needed to halt all preparations, delaying the presentation.

En: But Tiago knew that Mariana could be skeptical of last-minute changes.

Pb: Por outro lado, corrigir o erro sozinho era arriscado.
En: On the other hand, correcting the error alone was risky.

En: But if he succeeded... he might finally prove his worth and, who knows, achieve that long-dreamed promotion.

En: "What do we have here?"

Pb: perguntou Carlos, sem erguer os olhos.

Pb: Tiago aguardava.
En: Tiago waited.

Pb: Cada segundo era eterno.
