Have you ever prayed about something so long that you started to wonder if God had forgotten you? Year after year Hannah went up to Shiloh empty-handed, provoked by Peninnah, misunderstood by her husband, and finally mistaken for a drunk by the priest. In 1 Samuel 1 she poured out her heart with one simple request: Lord, remember me.
Key Verse: "And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her." - 1 Samuel 1:19 (KJV)
On the first of two nights in Hannah's story, Evangelist Jared Dixon follows her through her barrenness, her bitterness, and her blessing. Hannah never blamed God or lashed out at the people around her. She carried her broken heart to the Lord, and she left His house changed before anything in her circumstances had changed. The Bible says the Lord remembered her, just as He remembered Noah in the ark and Abraham in His covenant.
Your feelings may tell you that you've been forgotten, but God has not lost track of you. Keep praying, and keep trusting Him.
