Cartwright! A Seinfeld Podcast

Seinfeld Episode 9 (Season 5) Summary: “Jerry’s masseuse girlfriend won’t give him a massage. Elaine dates Joel Rifkin - not the mass murderer. ”

Original air date: November 18, 1993

The “season of sleaze” continues on Cartwright! A Seinfeld Podcast as Adam and Corey discuss the origins of the term “MILF” as well as what Adam would do for sex lol! Of course, we also break down and review ‘The Masseuse’ but that’s not as captivating an opening sentence as the one above!

Seinfeld Episode 8 (Season 5) Summary: “Jerry frets over leaving his incompetent barber. Elaine enlists Kramer to participate in her bachelor auction.”

Original air date: November 11, 1993

No closing stand-up bit and a secret stinger in the last 5 seconds of the episode?! What is this, some kind of a Marvel movie? Actually, come to think of it…I wonder how Jerry and the gang held up during the Battle of New York in the first Avengers movie? “What’s the deal with these aliens?” lol

Anyways, ‘The Barber’ was a fun episode and a fun discussion! It’s just a shame Adam didn’t stick around for that final scene to see a bald Newman. At least Corey gets to blow his mind on-air when he tells him about it!

Seinfeld Episode 7 (Season 5) Summary: “Jerry and Elaine investigate to see if their favorite frozen yogurt is non-fat. The research causes a stir during the New York mayoral election. Elaine dates George’s boyhood nemesis, Lloyd Braun.”

Original air date: November 4, 1993

Newman and the Costanzas in the same episode?! You just know “The Non-Fat Yogurt” is going to be a good one! Add to that some great writing and a kid that cusses (always comedy gold, Jerry!) and you have the recipe for a truly classic episode of Seinfeld! How classic, you ask? Well, you’ll just have to listen and find out!

Seinfeld Episode 6 (Season 5) Summary: “George tries to get Jerry’s deaf girlfriend to read lips at a party. Kramer becomes a ball boy at the U.S. Open.”

Original air date: October 28, 1993

‘The Lip Reader’ is proof that sometimes bad writing can completely derail an otherwise decent episode, for co-host Corey at least lol! Adam wasn’t as offended, but still had his reservations about this one. Was it as bad as ‘The Trip Part 1?’ You’ll have to listen to find out! As per usual though, less than stellar Seinfeld episodes usually make for fun Cartwright eps and this is no exception!

Seinfeld Episode 5 (Season 5) Summary: “Jerry and Elaine agree to be godparents to their friends’ newborn baby. They find a shaky mohel to preform the bris. Kramer is convinced he saw a pigman at the hospital.”

Original air date: October 14, 1993

This week on Cartwright! A Seinfeld Podcast, Adam and Corey discuss “The Bris!” The boys touch on everything from “Who pays for George’s car?” to “How do circumcisions work?” And, of course, they talk about the amazing performance by the late Charles Levin as the mohel. Rest in peace.
