  • Body Image & Your Kids
Children’s opinions of their bodies form at a very young age. Research suggests that children as young as 3 years old can have body image issues. • 4 Truths That We Need To Rehearse Every Day
Matt Smethhurst is managing editor at The Gospel Coalition and recently he shared something from Jackie Hill Perry that is amazing that is called: The 4 Truths To Rehearse Daily. Here they are:Identity Of Sin: Sin is not beautiful.Identity Of A Saint: You are not your temptations.Identity Of The Church: You are not alone.Identity Of God: God is better than you can imagine. Isn't that incredible? Just something that we need to remind ourselves as we start each day that we need God because of sin, however, we are no longer defined by our sin. We are blessed with having the community and accountability of the church that surrounds us and we can know for sure that God is bigger and better than we can possibly comprehend!

  • Kids Get It!
We hear the phrase "Faith Like A Child" and it may sound sweet to us, but a lot of us brush it off and don't bat an eye. But in reality, Jesus actually makes a really good point about this in Matthew 18:2-4 when the passage says:"He called a little child to him and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 18:2-4You've probably heard us mention a little girl by the name of Noah who is probably KCBI's biggest fan. That's why we also decided to make her our Assistant Promotions Director considering that she promotes KCBI wherever she goes! Not to mention that she is constantly looking for ways to raise money for the ministry.

  • To Better Understand The Bible, We Need To Listen To Homer Simpson
Pastor Rodney Hobbs from Stonegate Church in Midlothian says that in order for us to better understand the Bible, we should take some advice from Homer Simpson. Now if you've ever watched the Simpsons, you know that Homer is far from a theological person, much less an intellectual. However, during one episode where Ned Flanders gets Homer to read the Bible, Homer says something that is absolutely SPOT ON!

    Here it is:

"Everyone in this book is a mess, except this one guy."

That is great Biblical theology! That is EXACTLY what you should be thinking whenever you read the Bible! Everyone should realize that we all fall under the "Bad" category who are in need of salvation, but throughout the entire Bible, only one man is not a mess and that is Jesus Christ! So when you're reading the text, don't strive to imitate anyone but Jesus because everyone else is just as in need of salvation as we are!

  • What Christianity Is & What It Isn't
There’s a book called unChristian that analyzes the results of an extensive, nationwide study conducted by the Barna Group. The study showed that 84 percent of non-Christians said they personally knew at least one Christian, but only 15 percent thought that a person’s lifestyle was significantly different than their own. Non-Christians don’t think we’re different because we’re not different. But we should be.
