  • Bible Teacher Paige Henderson Says Count This Instead Of Your Blessings
Author and Bible Teacher, Paige Henderson who is the Co-Founder of Fellowship of the Sword ministries & The Quest Life says that instead of "counting our blessings", we need to instead count our days because if you want to see God's hand as he works in your life, you'll have a deeper experience if you look at your days and count how long he has provided for you. Recently, Paige just celebrated her 20,000th day on Earth so it prompted Jeff & Rebecca to do the same. Rebecca found out that today she is 16,386 days old and Jeff is actually 300 days away from 20,000! So, will you count your days today?

  • 6 Relationship Rules For A Successful Marriage
“Soulmate” is a silly term. I believe this wholeheartedly. Not always a popular opinion, but one that I feel makes relationships, love, and marriage a bit more realistic and therefore, more likely to last. Life is not a Nicholas Sparks novel. Couples do not ride off into the sunset.

Before you accuse me of being overly pragmatic, please know that I believe romance plays a very important role in any relationship, but it does not sustain a relationship on its own, long-term.

So what about the rest of the details that make up your marriage?

There are fundamental, non-romantic, ways to make the day-to-day parts of you and your partner’s relationship something that works as a foundation for the rest of your lives.

  • God Didn't Call You To Be Great
You may have read that title and thought, "what in the world are they thinking?" Well, in reality, we've probably either known somebody or have said this ourselves, "I want to do something great for God." This sounds good and for some people can be seen as theological, but in reality, it could not be further from the truth. If you read the Bible from front to back, you'll never find a Bible verse that supports this notion that God wants you to be "great" or do "great things for Him." God simply calls us to follow Him and obey His word. Of course, the world around us defines greatness by a different standard whether it's how much money we make, how successful we are in our career, or even how high we've climbed up on the social media ladder.

    In John 3:30, it says:

"He must become greater; I must become less.”

How are we supposed to become less if we're too focused on becoming "great" for God? It's a counterintuitive belief and we need to walk away from that pressure and remember that the story of the Bible isn't about us, it's about Him. Whether we really want something in this life or not, we can remember that His word also says in Psalm 16:6:

"The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance."

So if things aren't going our way or an opportunity isn't looking so promising, just know that God's plans for you are better than you can possibly imagine so rest in that truth today.

  • Rebecca's Top 5: Surprising Signs That You Are Way Too Stressed
In our "always on" culture, being in a perpetual state of stress can start to feel normal for many of us. As our schedules get busier and busier, we adjust to a more hectic lifestyle without even realizing that we seriously need to slow the heck down.

You may not feel frazzled, but there's a good chance there are some subtle ways your body is telling you that you're stressed, and they can impact you both mentally and physically.

It's scary but true: There are plenty of silent signs stress is making you sick, or just messing with your well-being in ways you don't fully realize.

Here are some telltale signs that stress is messing with you, even if you feel perfectly fine.

  • It Can Either Be The Most Depressing Or Incredible Poem You've Ever Read
Kids say the darnedest things. They can also write the most compelling ones.

A "reverse" poem a 10-year-old girl in England wrote about dyslexia has gone viral for its clever formatting and inspiring message.

The poem, aptly called “Dyslexia,” paints a downtrodden picture when you read it from top to bottom, but strikes a much more empowering tone when you read from the bottom line back to the top.

  • For The Fixer In All Of Us
A big person in Jeff's life is currently struggling right now and the fixer in Jeff is doing everything in its power to try and repair the situation. However, that response isn't always what's best for that person so sometimes the greatest thing that we can do is cry out to God on behalf of the person and be there for them with just our presence.

  • Will A Metal Detector Pick Up The Titanium Plates & Screws In Rebecca's Neck?
As you may know, Rebecca had to have emergency surgery on her neck and back which involved her getting some nice titanium screws and plates in her neck to help fuse the discs of her spine together. One thing that may be a problem is that Rebecca has a speaking engagement coming up in Kansas in which she will need to fly to get there but she is worried about setting off the TSA Airport metal detectors. So what we decided to do is use Rebecca's son's junior metal detector just to see what we're up against and let's just the say the results will surprise you!

  • KCBI Artist Matthew West Says Make A List & Then Destroy It
Recently on Facebook, Jeff saw a post from Matthew West encouraging his fans to make a list. Now one thing you need to know is that Jeff is by no means a list maker, but his wife makes lists every week of what she needs to get done. However, this isn't the ordinary to-do list that he is asking you to write down. Matthew West says that we need to write down a list of our failures, shortcomings, and other things that we find wrong with ourselves, and then destroy it. Because the reality is that in Christ, that list has no burden on us anymore because our sin no longer keeps us away from God because of the cross. As Jeff was talking about this, Rebecca realized that she doesn't necessarily struggle with realizing her forgiveness from Christ, but she does find that she has a continuous battle with being defined by her successes.
