Beers at the Bottom have written articles for many publications. They found a niche subject in the hiking community that has not been covered; matching hikes with local breweries!

Rachel and Brandon met in Bellingham and have sampled beer across the state, though some of their favorite beer may still be in the Whatcom County area.

Andy Porter is a backpacking photographer that loves North Cascade National Park. He holds classes and ultimately, wants to show other how fun it can be to try and capture the backcountry on camera.

We talk about how different hiking is when you are trying to get sunset or sunrise photos. Some of his more recent photos to capture are shots that include the Milky Way. Look at the bottom of the show notes to see three of his photos.

Greg Johnston is the author of Washington's Pacific Coast: A Guide to Hiking, Camping, Fishing and other adventures. He covers it all in this book! If you want to spend some time in this area of Washington, then this is the best place to find out everything.

Greg was also the Outdoor Writer for the Seattle Post Intelligencer until it stop printing in 2009. We talk about some of his favorite articles he wrote while there. He also explains how writing a book was "perfectly" set-up from him loosing his job when the PI switched to digital only.

Ratatouille came on the podcast after listening to a few of my episodes! He started a podcast last year called Trailside Radio. He interviewed people before, during, and after his attempt to thru hike the Pacific Crest Trail. I think his best episode was an interview with Anish after her record setting Appalachian Trail hike.

Fires, injuries and too much time spent having fun recording his show left him with over half of the miles covered. He will be hiking again this year and hopefully reprising his interview roll.

He is also excited about editing the 2015 thru hikers class video. I will put a link up when it is available online!

Pacific Northwest's Angela Strand talks about her website and blog NW Heathy Mama! She lives north of Seattle and has really just begun hiking and is already an inspiration to many people. She hikes with both her family and a women's group and she has some good stories to tell us.
