In the beginning of the book of Revelation, God speaks directly to seven churches throughout Asia, modern day Turkey, through seven letters addressing their strengths and weaknesses. In Dear Church, we will look at not only the strengths and weaknesses of the seven churches in Asia but also what these letters can teach the church of today.

Next Steps:

• Reflect on the letter God is writing on your conscience. Is he asking you to return to your first love?

• Demonstrate love to someone who might be difficult to love this week.

• Identify an area of your life where you are living selfishly. Submit to Jesus’s authority in this area of your life and choose to live humbly and sacrificially instead of selfishly.

• Find a consistent place to volunteer and serve in our church, in your neighborhood, or around our city.

Our lives are chaotic, and so many things are pulling us away from what is important in life. If we are going to pursue deeper connection with God, meaningful relationships with friends and family, and opportunities to help and serve others, we are going to have to focus. We will need to minimize distractions, quiet the noise and slow down. It is time for us to focus.

Next Steps:

• Identify some ways the enemy is distracting you and think about how you can limit these.

• Consider the good things in your schedule that are leaving no time for the best. What can you eliminate?

• Decide what your main focus in 2022 will be.
