This plagued fortress in Cape Town, South Africa was built in the late 1600s by the Dutch East India Company. The five massive walls were the site of boundless bloody killings. Cursed to never leave the compound, tormented souls are still locked in the torture chamber. For many, the windowless basement is the closest thing to hell on Earth.
