  • Author Mary Ellen Lukas
Was Jesus a man of color? Was he actually married to Mary Magdalen? In her book, Are You Still Mine, Ms. Lukas presents presents some common misconceptions about the Christian man of God and offers new perspectives into the meaning of ‘love thy neighbor.’
While this may sound like a storyline in a Dan Brown novel, it’s been whispered by many that Mary Magdalene wasn’t the stigmatized prostitute in the Christian religion, but rather the wife and companion of Jesus Christ. Religious historian Lukas discusses this and other outdated patriarchal religious institutions.
Author Mary Ellen Lukas is known throughout the world as a controversial motivational speaker and stigmatic. In an interview, Mary Ellen Lukas will discuss:
    · Why the Church reimagined Jesus’ race in their depiction of him
    · Ways in which Jesus Christ was inclusive of all genders
    · How he was the first feminist during a time that women weren’t included in learning and teachings
    · Mary Magdalene’s early role in Jesus’ teachings
    · The relationship and marriage of Jesus and Mary
    · The reasons why Mary Magdalene was portrayed as a prostitute
    · The missing teachings of Mary Magdalene from the Christian bible
    · The role of Spirituality in a world with uncertain future where patriarchal religions are losing their flocks
Let me know when you would want to talk to Mary Ellen Lukas. She is available from today through August 28. We’ll send you the book prior to the interview.

Palast, a Puffin Foundation fellow in investigative reporting, is the author of the New York Times bestsellers, including The Best Democracy Money Can Buy. He is known for his reports in the Guardian, Rolling Stone and on BBC television.
“Greg Palast is one of those inconveniently stubborn journalists who gets his teeth into a story and shakes it bloody right there in the middle of the parlor, dreadfully inconveniencing the pampered swells of the elite political press, and revolting the serious thinkers who get to go on PBS and moan about the genuine crisis of American political civility. Palast has been on the voter-caging story ever since people like Pastor Whiting got screwed 14 years ago. Palast [has] dropped a bomb into the elections that has left credibility shrapnel all over the democratic process, if anyone cares to look for it.” - Charles Pierce, Esquire
"Greg Palast, America’s wittiest (and wickedest) muckraker. An award-winning Guardian investigative journalist, he is causing crooked election officials all over the country to shiver in their shoes as they wait for a knock on their door from the FBI – thanks to his explosive exposes." - Pacifica Radio Network
