  • Political Analyst Available:Lockhart Says Biden Should Not Debate Trump
    Gary Goldman
NATIONAL POLITICAL ANALYST: Gary S. Goldman is the nationally recognized host of “Business, Politics, & Lifestyles” a weekly talk show airing on WCRN 830 in Metro Boston MA and author of My Big Mouth and The Ugly Truth: Taking the Stress out of Opinions VS Facts
“Whatever you do, don’t debate Trump,” he wrote on CNN. “Trump has made more than 20,000 misleading or false statements according to the Washington Post. It’s a fool’s errand to enter the ring with someone who can’t follow the rules or the truth. Biden will undoubtedly take heat from Republicans and the media for skipping the debates. But it’s worth the risk as trying to debate someone incapable of telling the truth is an impossible contest to win.”

  • AK Patch 862020
Many would agree that inspiration and perseverance are required to achieve anything of significance in life.
I accept my occasional share of lucky moments, but to ‘just keep working at it’ has been more my path of success.
Authoring a time-travel adventure series – scratching out the time necessary while I was still working full-time and more – demanded all the above, but one realizes that the process of dreaming and executing a plot is a journey with rich rewards. The characters, once established, begin to write their own story. And the trouble they get themselves into…
Historical and current events, even what the future may hold, is the background of my writing, radio, and television appearances.
There’s so much to choose from.
My love for history began early. Growing up in a family of nine children near Plymouth, Massachusetts and educated in Boston, the heritage of our country and the sacrifice of the Founding Fathers was an ever-present stirring and vivid study.
Interest in both science and the arts compelled me to receive a B.S. in Biology from Boston College and a DMD degree From Tufts University. Seeking professional and life experience, I joined the U.S. Navy, receiving my commission aboard the oldest active duty ship in the fleet, the USS Constitution.
Following active duty, I entered private practice and continued to serve in the Naval Reserve, stationed in Naval Hospitals and deployed with the United States Marine Corps. When I retired from the Navy with the rank of Captain, my retirement flag flew over the decks of the USS Constitution. Many great experiences and profound friendships grew out of those twenty-six years of service.
Throughout, while building my career and family, my interest in history and its lessons never waned, and it was not restricted to our shores. History has so much to teach us, and ancient history, especially of the Greek and Roman periods, has not only proved fascinating but has also provided fertile ground for my fiction.
I serve as a board member of the Friends of Classics at San Diego State University and a member of the Hellenic Society of San Diego. With education a key to bringing to life the lessons of the past, I am also a judge for San Diego County History Fair.
I live in one of the most beautiful cities on earth, sunny San Diego with my wife and two children. I play tennis and still love baseball. Early days on the pitcher's mound and throwing right and left-handed still has me dreaming of pitchi

  • How Realistic Is A Coronavirus Vaccine? New Report Says Miracle Vaccination May Not Be A COVID Silver Bullet
Nearly $6 billion has been allocated. Clinical trials are entering a crucial third phase, and Operation Warp Speed is getting closer to the goal of delivering 300 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine by January.
But when Americans line up for their immunizations, the vaccine they receive might not be what they expect. The popular notion of a vaccine — a shot in the arm that prevents diseases such as measles, polio or shingles for years or a lifetime — may not apply.
Under recently released federal guidelines, a COVID-19 vaccine can be authorized for use if it is safe and proves effective in as few as 50% of those who receive it. And "effective" doesn't necessarily mean stopping people from getting sick from COVID-19. It means minimizing its most serious symptoms, experts say.
“We should anticipate the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine to be similar to the influenza vaccine,” said Dr. Kathleen Neuzil, director of the Center for Vaccine Development at the University of Maryland. “That vaccine may or may not keep people from being infected with the virus, but it does keep people out of the hospital and the ICU.”

They believe you don't have to be vegan to want to eat more vegan foods, the Institute report noted, in a review of how these young consumers are influencing food trends.
Sixty-five percent of Gen Z say they want a more "plant-forward" diet, while 79% choose to go meatless once or twice a week, the study found.

People donate to vegan restaurants in Los Angeles, New York, and Philadelphia. Those restaurants, in turn, make the food that is distributed. Filmed largely with robotic cameras, during the COVID-19 outbreak, the show follows Maggie Baird, (actress, screenwriter, vegan, and the mother of musicians Billie Eilish and Finneas, who are also vegan) as she delivers food to those in need. John Oates & The Good Road Band ‘Live In Nashville’ Set For September 18th Release
Four new originals along with covers of Mississippi John Hurt, Jimmy Rogers, Don Gibson highlight second Thirty Tigers album
LOS ANGELES, July 31, 2020—Rock & Roll Hall of Famer John Oates has had a home in Nashville for more than a decade, performing with some of the city’s most sought-after musicians. John’s Thirty Tigers debut, Arkansas, performed with The Good Road Band, was released in 2018, proving a critical and commercial success in the Americana and roots community, a combination of originals with classic songs popularized by Mississippi John Hurt, Jimmy Rodgers and Don Gibson.
After two-plus solid years of honing their chops through touring, that group – mandolin stalwart Sam Bush, pedal steel maestro Russ Pahl (Dan Auerbach), electric guitar whiz Guthrie Trapp, expert bassist Steve Mackay, cello prodigy Nate Smith (Kacey Musgraves) and drummer/percussionist extraordinaire Josh “Daddy” Day – returns intact for Live In Nashville, set for release on September 18 on all major digital streaming platforms. The set was recorded last January 9 at Station Inn, the legendary intimate listening room in The Gulch section of Nashville where the band first took shape.
“This album represents a full-circle moment for me,” said John, in quarantine with his family in his adopted Music City home. “It feels like the culmination of the Arkansas project, being able to bring these guys back, and to be able to make this record after touring and playing so many shows together.”
Inspired by Mississippi John Hurt, Live in Nashville features songs like the gospel-blues opener, “Lord Send Me,” the Delta blues of the standard “Stack o Lee” and an electrified take on “Make Me a Pallet on Your Floor,” dubbed “Pallet Soft and Low,” where John manages to show off some of his well-honed rock guitar skills. In yet another “full circle moment,” John pays tribute to his own childhood with a cover of Don Gibson’s “Oh Lonesome Me,” the first song he learned to sing and play on guitar as a six-year-old after hearing it on the radio. Several of the songs come with Oates’ own stories about the songs, connecting the dots as to their connections, including popular hits of the era like the Mississippi Sheiks’ 1930 success, “Sittin’ on Top of the World,” Emmett Miller’s 1924 breakthrough, “Anytime” and Jimmy Rogers’ 1932 classic, “Miss the Mississippi and You.”
