Hanger steak can be hard to find in some areas. I personally have a few local stores where I can purchase it. Traditionally it has only been available to butchers and as a unique offering on restaurant menus. Only here in the last few years has hanger steak been more readily available for consumers. If you can't find hanger steak at your local grocery store, try seeking it out from a local butcher shop if you have one near or try ordering it from a specialty supplier. It is worth ordering and I think you will be pleasantly surprised by what you get when you grill it up.

Hanger steak though tender, yes is something you want to cook either medium, medium rare or rare, and either by grilling or under the broiler.
