January 13, 2019 - Christ's light can fill the darkness in our life. Do we let Christ in? His baptism signifies the begining of his public ministry, and a reminder that God loves us, just as he loves the Son.

January 6, 2019 - The three Magi came seeking the baby Jesus, bearing gifts. However, they received the only true Christmas gift, Christ Himself in the flesh. The closest we come to this ultimate gift is in partaking of the Eucharist. Rejoice and be glad!

December 16, 2018 - We are told to Rejoice! today. Fr. Xavier asks, "But what if I feel miserable? How can I rejoice?". His answer: How can you NOT rejoice? Happiness is a decision; without it you lose reason and energy. Choose to be delighted in all the things that work, instead of those that don't!

December 1, 2018 - On this celebration of the beginning of Advent: How do we prepare for the end of the world, when Jesus will come in glory? Option alpha: Distract yourself, but don't become lazy. Option beta: Get busy, but not frantic. Option omega: Pray for God's light in your life. Make your work a prayer- feel God's love for you.

November 25, 2018 - Jesus, our King, came to testify to the Truth. The Truth, for us, has many meanings. Do we care about the suffering from disasters like fires, from man-made calamnities such as immigration, do we advocate for the poor? Does our life have meaning?

November 18, 2018 - The apocalyptic story in today's Gospel was pretold in Isaiah. It is God's plea for a change of hearts. Be alert, be hopeful, for the kingdom of God is already here and has been. We have much to do to bring it to deeper life, don't wait for others!

November 11, 2018 - The real gifts are those given from the heart, not those given of abundance. The widow gave back to God what she had been given from Him.

November 4, 2018 - Father Dominic asks: "What part of Love don't you understand?" God is in everything we do; we have only to be open to His infinite love for us. Chaplain Teresa adds that words are instruments that can guide you to God. How do we love God with all our heart? Evrything we do is prayer, and is holy when we keep Him in our daily lives.

October 28, 2018 - Deacon John contrasts James' and John's answer last week to Jesus' question, "What do you want me to do for you" (To sit at the side of God) with the blind Bartimaeus' answer, "To see", and asks the question, Who were the blind ones here? Why don't we ask Jesus, "Lord, what can I do for you today?"

October 15, 2018 - Life has it's ups and downs. What might seem at first to be bad luck may well be found to be good luck later on, and vice versa. Trust in God, and devote your life to serving others, and your reward will be great.
