Co-Host Jenn Delvaux interviews author Paul Jarzembowski about his new book, Hope from the Ashes: Insights and Resources for Welcoming Lenten Visitors. Ash Wednesday and Lent bring many people to our parishes and faith based events, some we don’t see at other times of the year. They discuss how these are opportunities to evangelize, accompany, and help people develop a sense of belonging. Paul and Jenn explore why this season brings people back to church, why we should creatively reach out, and some practical steps each of us can take.

Catholic Charities Legal Assistance Department (CCLA) is a vital part of the wrap-around services that we offer to our clients. In many cases, legal barriers are one of the main concerns that prevent people from reaching their goal of self-sufficiency. Join Katie Bredemann as she welcomes HILDA BAHENA, Director of CCLA, and EDWARD SOMMER, a CCLA Volunteer Attorney to discuss the many ways that Catholic Charities helps clients navigate the complex legal system to advocate for themselves and their families in legal issues. 

The Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy Science Olympiad Team has qualified and competed in tournaments for the last 10 years. The team recently won University of Chicago’s Science Olympiad tournament. These tournaments test students skills and ornithology to hands-on events that included building bridges to sustain a certain weight, flying homemade model airplanes and designing vehicles that use mouse traps to propel a certain distance.

Fenwick provides an environment that focuses on developing the whole student - rigorous academics, competitive athletics and the Dominican Catholic pillars. Coach Dave Power has giving life lessons, building community, and leading the Fenwick girls’ basketball team for the past 29 years with two state championships and the most all time wins in girls high school basketball in Illinois. During his final, regular-season home game last week, the basketball court was officially named COACH POWER COURT.
