If the last few episodes have shown us the slow build‑up of tension — the rebellion forming, the consequences unfolding, the escape narrowing — chapter 18 brings us to the moment where everything converges. This is the chapter where the battle finally breaks out. This is where Absalom’s fate is sealed, and its the chapter where David’s heart is broken. 

But beyond the heartbreak is something deeper: The faithfulness of God, the weight of choices, and the cost of rebellion.
