May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones. (1 Thessalonians 3:13) 

May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Thessalonians 5:23)

Watch Word for 2022: Christian Courage is Holding on an Hour Longer as We Watch for the Return of Christ. “Perhaps it’s the people I hang with, but I’m hearing more concern over the world we’re leaving to our grandchildren. On the one hand, I get it. There are several trends that seem ominous. But let me remind you: (1) People have always been worried for the next generation. (2) Sin has an expiration date. There may be storms ahead, but God wins. His future rule and reign are certain. Embrace hope.”  

God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:9) 

You will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering. ( 2 Thessalonians 1:5)

Now, as the end of the year draws near, we focus our Advent and Christmas worship on the return of the King. Each Sunday morning we’ll hear from 1 and 2 Thessalonians on the second Advent. You might get more out of it if you take fifteen minutes to read 1 and 2 Thessalonians this week.

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others. (1 Peter 4:10)

I sometimes worry that our collective courage is growing weaker from disuse. We don't demand it from our leaders, and our leaders don't demand it from us. The courage deficit is both our problem and our fault. As a result, too many leaders in the public and private sectors lack the courage necessary to honor their obligations to others and to uphold the essential values of leadership. Our Scripture text is 1 Peter 5:1-4. Here we see that “elder,” “overseer,” and “pastor” are used interchangeably to depict church leadership, and that leadership is plural.
