We are slowly but surely making our way through our favorite 100 CCM albums from the years 1985-1995. This time we dive into numbers 40-31 on our respective lists. You can go back into the archives to hear our other selections.

And remember...as the numbers get smaller, the hits get bigger.

There are fantastic albums that, for whatever reason, fall through the cracks and fade into obscurity. These are what we like to call "hidden gems." On this episode, the 3D's choose some of their favorite hidden gems.

A very special occasion. CCM in 3D has officially reached our 50th episode. To mark this grand occasion, Derek sits down with Kathy Sprinkle, Beth Snell Lutz, and Dave Trout in order to deep dive into two Rich Mullins albums: Pictures in the Sky and Winds of Heaven...Stuff of Earth. If you are a fan of Rich Mullins' studio albums, you are going to love this episode. We guarantee there are some Mullins stories here that you have never heard before. Sit back and enjoy.

Dan, Dave, and Derek would like to thank God for bringing us this far. May He be pleased to grant us many more episodes of CCM in 3D.

With the recent passing of Imperials founding member Armond Morales, the 3D's thought it was a good time for a deep dive into the 1988 album Free the Fire. The album brings back all of the Imperials members from the previous album (This Year's Model) but trends in a slightly different direction. Join the 3D's this week as they dive deep into the album that causes us to reconsider the importance of wild geese.

This week the 3D's take a look back and review the year 1986. What was going on in the world. What was hot on non-Christian radio. And, of interest to listeners of this podcast, what was happening in CCM that year?

The year 1986 in CCM consolidated gains made the previous year. New albums from Michael W. Smith, Petra, and Stryper pushed the boundaries of what was thought possible for the genre.

Join the 3D's as they go back in time to the year 1986.

It is no secret that two of the 3D's (Dave and Derek) are huge fans of so-called "Jesus Music." Therefore, since analog Dan is still MIA, the remaining D's head way out of bounds and turn their attention to their top five favorite "Jesus Music" albums. Oh, and robot Dan makes several appearances and [wait for it] raps near the end of the episode.

Derek sat down in person recently with Kathy Sprinkle, Elizabeth Snell Lutz, and Dave Trout to discuss some new releases of the music of Rich Mullins. If you are a fan of the late singer-songwriter, you are in for a real treat with this episode.

Dave and Derek opine on their favorite remakes and cover songs by CCM artists. Also, a mysterious robotic guest has joined the pod. Things will most definitely never be the same.
