Episode 23 opens with a jam between Matthias and Matt...
Matthias goes into learning how to improvise songs and backs it up by playing one during the jam, then playing a brand new song (written that day!) at the end of the episode. Matt and Matthias also discuss musical drones, artists affecting the political climate, and living a transient life during your most formative years.
Emily Franklin is a jazz-influenced pianist, singer, and guitarist.
Listen as we discuss not knowing how to name songs, moving to the Central Coast at 6 months of age, and singing in ensembles.
Alex Van Brasch is a visual artist & singer-songwriter based in North SLO County.
Listen as we discuss mosh pits, creating artwork for songs, and learning art & music as a teenager.
Merry Christmas!
Mike Campa is a singer-songwriter of instrumentally-charged pieces, as well as being the founder of Earth Shine and host of Vine St music nights.
Hang out as we discuss re-discovering the central coast after growing up in it, being fooled by Humboldt, and thorough video game talk.
Maybe In Time is a ukelele-based singer songwriter in SLO County.
Check her out at maybeintime.com !
Well this is weird...it's me! Donna Wolfe steps in and I switch seats and become the "interviewee."
Steve Key is a singer-songwriter, recording artist, and music curator (Songwriters at Play) based in Shell Beach.
NOTE: Most of the previous guests on the podcast are a direct result of going to Steve's showcases!
Join us as we discuss moving from one coast to the other, how much talking to do before playing a song, and engaging with a music community.
Steve's album release party is Nov 22nd at Morro Bay Wine Seller. "How I Learned To Drink" is available now on streaming platforms.
Donna Wolfe is a singer-songwriter, designer, and writer based in north SLO County.
Join us as we discuss judging song contests, hosting a songwriter circle, and we tease what the next episode will hold...
Douglas Romayne hangs out too!
Cassi Nicholls is a singer-songwriter based in Cambria (Pines by the Sea!).
In this episode, we learn that Matt has murdered the previous guests, Cassi and Matt have had a series of near-misses in their travels through the US, and Matt gets a gig, and...hey wait, isn't this episode about Cassi???
We're joined halfway through by Megan Steinke (a CCM alumni) and Sherell Jane, who add their two cents throughout the episode.
Overall, one of the most fun episodes to date!
David Evans is back with his cool brand of celtic tunes! His voice is 100% after the cold that plagued him on the previous episode.
The episode starts out with David & Matt playing a Radiohead tune, and then we dive into all kinds of stuff. David plays 2 original songs this time.
Having David back on felt more like hanging out and jamming with a friend and less like recording an episode. Enjoy!
