Believe it or not the Bible is the original guidebook for Sex. God created sex for a male and female to be enjoyed within the covenant of marriage. God planned, designed, and designated sex for the great pleasure of his creation and it should be discussed.

If you were brought up in the 1980's those statements were taboo and certainly rarely heard at home or church. A generation did a really weak job of sharing the truth of God's plans for sex. Satan has gone on an all out attack to pervert and disrupt what God intended causing confusion and disarray in society pertaining to sex.

Join us this Sunday at 10AM as we look at the Biblical answers of how to stand in this vital area of our faith. Pastor Rick will preach the sermon "Contend for Right Sex."

We are living in a time in which the enemy, the Father of lies, has people on every side wondering who is telling the truth, is there actual truth, can anyone or any message be trusted as truth. Now more than ever in the name of the Way, the Truth, and the Life, the church must Contend. We will be peering into the scriptures the next 6 weeks to understand specifically what we as a church should stand for and against. Join us this Sunday as we kickoff the new series "Contend" with Pastor Rick's sermon "Contend for Biblical Marriage."

We are so privileged to get to worship together this Sunday. Sunday is a very special day at CCW. We will be celebrating the ordination of Pastor Dave Roper. Dave, along with his wife Amanda have been serving at CCW for over 5 years now and have certainly shown their love for Christ and this family of people!

It is going to be an awesome service as Pastor Dave will be sharing his testimony and call to the ministry and Pastor Rick will be sharing the sermon "Called to Christ."

Come, now is the time to worship, is a worship song popularized in the 90's with its anthem, "Come now is the time to worship, come now is the time to give your heart, come just as you are to worship." Have you ever felt like you had nothing left to give just worn utterly thin? Doerksen described the song's roots as a time in a dark season just barely hanging onto his faith and God drew his mind to that phrase "now is the time to worship!"

In Psalms 95, 96, & 100 we see that engaging call to worship. Not fully exhaustive, but many of the action words found in those Psalms are as follows: Sing, Shout, Bless, Proclaim, Declare, Honor, Praise, Fear, Give, Sacrifice, Worship and Tremble.

Worship means to ascribe worth or value to something. We are going to dig into Psalms 95 and see the description of how we should present ourselves to, and ascribe worth to a worthy God.

The Olympic season is upon us and on the world's stage the greatest athletes are competing to be crowned the gold and in many cases the outcomes are determined by fractions. I'm sure that many athletes will leave thinking if I would have just done this differently or that differently. If I could just have it to do again. What would you do if you could turn back time? That is a big question. I believe God sovereignly uses everything for His purposes, but what if you could, would you have done differently.

In Psalms 51 we find David who had been to the mountaintop and been used mightily by God, but in a moment he makes a daunting mistake that would come with a great price. In Psalms 51, David pens the words of his prayer of repentance. In it he cries out "blot out" what I've done. In this great song and prayer we find David can't turn back time, but we learn how to move forward when we can't take back the past.

This Sunday we are celebrating our 12th anniversary! Wow, has CCW come a long way from a stewardship dream in the mind of a Godly businessman. In the hand of a mighty God, these 12 years He has provided land, buildings, parking lots, fields, and a church family - but most importantly, He has continued steadfastly proving His presence! When I think of CCW, I can't help but think it is a place that is blessed by the presence of God!

The Tour De France is one of my family's favorite sporting events of the year. Hundreds of cyclists take on thousands of miles of the Pyrenees and the Alps mountains over 21 stage races over 3 weeks with no other propulsion system than the muscles in their legs. One of the most fascinating stages that takes place during the Tour is the individual time trial. Your standard race stage is simple; the first person to cross the finish line wins. An individual time trial is different. Instead of all racers being on the course at the same time, they start one at a time and their start times are staggered. A rider can finish his race and have to wait hours for everyone else to finish to know if his time was the fastest. Conversely, a rider could have the fastest time all day and be beaten by the last rider on the course!

In a time trial, waiting for everyone to finish is the hardest part. A rider needs to have the fastest time in order to win, but must wait until all riders are finished to know his final standing. This week, we will learn from Psalm 130 and explore themes such as our greatest need and waiting on the Lord.

In the late 1980's early 90's an anthem was everywhere. It was on poster's with smiley faces, t-shirts, and bumper stickers and it was sung by Bobby McFerrin called "Don't Worry Be Happy." I bet if you remember it you might be whistling it right now.

We live in a day and age filled with things that worry people. Our American culture works at a breakneck pace trying to get everything done yesterday all the while keeping up with the Jones'. Over 40 million US adults suffer with an anxiety related illness that's almost 20% of the Adult population!! Long before Bobby McFerrin, King David penned a psalm of council, Psalm 37, join us this Sunday as Pastor Rick preaches David's Psalm "Don't Worry, Be Happy."

In 2001 Destiny’s child wrote a hit song called “Survivor” and as a kid I remember hearing it everywhere! The car radio, MTV, kids singing it, and even my older brother's CD player! It was an anthem to everyone who had ever been through something in life! I believe King David would have had it on his apple music playlist considering all that happened in his life!

This week our scripture we will dive into is Psalm 63 which was written by King David who was running for his life in the wilderness. King David was chosen by God and anointed King by Samuel but the present king Saul was not going for that! He in all his anger and jealousy pursued King David to take his life and continue his reign as Israel’s king! King Saul’s attempts would all be in vain because God was with King David in the wilderness and helped him remain a survivor! This week as we look into the scriptures we will examine God’s blueprint for surviving our “Wilderness”!

There are particular activities throughout the pages of scripture that suggest an impression was made on the Lord. If you thought there was a secret way to get the attention of the Lord for help wouldn't you want to know exactly what that was?

Psalms 34, is a Psalm of Deliverance in which the Psalmist portrays key ideas that lead us to the working hand of God. At CCW, we sing a song of worship often called "I Trust God" and one of the lyrics is based on Psalms 34:4 "I sought the Lord and He heard, and He answered." In this life, you are going to have many circumstances that need God's hand of deliverance. You will hear from the experiences of David, a man who knew the nuts and bolts of the necessity of deliverance. Join us this Sunday at 10AM for Pastor Rick's sermon "Signed, Sealed, and Delivered."
