  • Lean On Me
Bill Withers penned an anthem that has soothed the hearts of generations for over half a century. He committed his feelings to paper based on the backdrop of a rural upbringing in a tight-knit family town and traversing to a new place, longing for a friend to call on. That 1972 #1 hit is entitled "Lean on Me."
Psalms 23 is the most famous Psalm and could be disputed as one of the most known passages in the Bible. "The Lord is my Shepherd" are 5 of the most powerful words to be sung! In this Psalm, David describes a loving Shepherd who is personal, peace-filled, and protects his sheep. I thank God that, as His Word says, He is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother! I believe the Psalmist could echo Bill Withers's words and say if you need a friend, just call on Him, call on Him, lean on Him today.

  • Making Life Count

For those men lucky enough to be called by the title Dad, it is a high honor and a great responsibility. The only thing of this world that carries on when you leave is what you've given of yourself to others and the only thing that goes on to eternity is the others you've impacted for Christ.

This Sunday we will be celebrating Father's Day by hearing from one of the most impactful speakers of our time, Scott Dawson. Scott is a Birmingham native and graduate of Samford University. Scott is the founder of SDEA (Scott Dawson Evangelsitic Association) and has shared the Gospel with more than a million people across the nation. We can't wait to celebrate you Dad's. Hear a challenging word and worship King Jesus!

  • All Armored Up, And Then?
    Belt of truth? Check.
    Breastplate of righteousness? Yep.
Feet shod with preparation of the gospel of peace? Laced up tight.
    Shield of faith? Uh huh.
    Helmet of salvation? You bet.
Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God? In hand.
    And then? Uh…..
We have spent the last two months discussing taking up, girding and putting on the armor of God. But what about after you’re all armored up? What next? Just stand there? Surely there must be something else.
Join us this Sunday as we explore this thought and conclude the Armored series with “All armored up, and then?”

  • Armored With A Sword
Our battle with the forces of evil is relentless; therefore, the Lord commands us to take up the sword of the Spirit. Out of all of the armor, this specifically was wielded and made Satan head for the hills. That piece of weaponry - the sword - is the Word of God!
The undeniable strength of the Word of God may seem like the most common church idea, yet it is possibly the most grossly undervalued and underused. Spurgeon said, "Man's words are mere breath, but the Word of God is Spirit and is Alive." One of CCW's four pillars is Clear Biblical Truth; we must know how stand against all warfare equipped with the most precious and powerful Words of God!

  • Armored With A Helmet
The helmet was a weapon of identity. Have you ever been watching a movie with a dramatic war scene and thought, "How can they distinguish who is on what side?" One way they could do that is by the particular type of helmet. As a believer our identity is hinged on salvation, no matter where a person comes from - their nationality, age, social status - if they are saved that means we are on the same team, wearing the same helmet.
The threat of spiritual warfare abounds through an attack on the mind. Satan and his minions quest to cause spiritual doubts, physical discouragement, and mental depression for every saved person. The endmost intention being the destruction of your Christian value and impact on this life. Therefore, it is crucial that we as Christians are "Armored with a Helmet" to be secure of our identity in Christ.

  • Faith That Works
This Sunday as we continue in our sermon series on the armor of God, we will be looking at the “Shield of Faith”! We will be looking at Joseph with the coat of many colors who had mighty faith! He was given a Word from God and even though his life flipped upside down he trusted God the whole time. His faith was a shield against all the temptations, frustrations, and accusations. Just like Joseph we need faith that will shield us from Satan’s fiery darts that come from all sides. So please Join us and see how we can take the example of Joseph and walk by faith and not sight!

  • A Special Delivery
What a celebratory day this Sunday will be, as we are so thankful to celebrate our CCW moms as well as share in a child dedication service. We will join with several of our CCW families in covenant with the Lord to band together in the raising of these precious children.
One of the most rewarding and difficult assignments on the planet has to be that of "Mom." There are countless hours spent tending to and nurturing the needs of others, giving of all available energies. A Godly mother's love is endless and an example to all. Where would we be without Mom?
We will be looking at Exodus 2 - a king’s edict threatens the newborn child of Jochebed, yet she was not afraid. She looks at her beautiful baby and decides with great resolve to hide and protect him, and it was the right thing at the right moment. Praise the Lord for that mom, and praise the Lord for our CCW moms.

  • Armored With Shoes
In 2021, the global brand Jordan raked in 4.8 billion dollars in revenue. Do you remember the biggest commercial campaign featuring MJ and Spike Lee with the great tagline "It's gotta be the shoes"?
The next piece of spiritual armor is found in Ephesians 6:15: "having feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace." Roman soldiers wore a boot called a Caligea, usually leather with a cleated bottom, it protected feet and positioned them for battle. We are in a battle and the enemy is in hot pursuit of complete disruption of our peace; he is throwing every dart in his arsenal to keep us off our spiritual feet.

  • Armored With a Breastplate
The second piece of armor for spiritual battle is the Breastplate of Righteousness. In today's world police and military often wear a bulletproof vest and, because of the vest, vital organs are protected and many lives are saved! In the spiritual realm, the breastplate of righteousness works two-fold: it guides our paths toward right actions and keeps Satan from gaining access to our hearts, luring us into sin. We will look at the example of Samson from Judges 16 to connect how best to utilize the vital protection of the breastplate of righteousness.
