The Celtics got embarrassed by the Wizards 130-111. The Celtics fell down by as many as 23 with over 9:00 minutes to play in the 4th quarter and Joe just emptied the bench. The starters weren't hitting wide open shots or defending at all and pulling all the starters sparked something but the comeback was short lived. The bench got it down to 12 before the Wizards went on another big run to close out the game. Some people will complain about the Celtics taking too many 3s but I will say they were absolutely wide open for a large majority of them. There is a big difference between taking too many 3s and creating 3s and the Celtics created a ton of open 3s in this game but they just weren't falling.

As poorly as the Celtics shot from 3 (11-44), that wasn't the only reason behind this loss. The Celtics were a revolving door at the rim giving the Wizards whatever they wanted. Porzingis torched us with 32pts 13reb and got whatever he wanted at the rim. The Celtics, for whatever reason, had Horford guarding Avdija while Smart, Brogdon or White had the matchup on Porzingis most of the night and Porzingis bullied himself to a good spot on the floor creating easy shots all night long. The Celtics are smarter than that but it didn't show in this one. After 3 straight blowout victories, I thought the time of us playing down to competition was over but here we are. Hopefully the Celtics kick this and bounce back Thursday night for a crucial game against the Bucks.
