The Celtics lost to the Heat 106-98 and this was a game where we saw a lot of regressions. The Celtics went on an incredible run because their defense was phenomenal and their ball movement followed suit. Tonight we saw the defense that has been switching everything take a step back. We obviously know the defense is going to be worse without Timelord but the part that scares me slightly is the way it changed. Tonight we saw the bigs drop in the pick and roll forcing guys to fight through screens more but it also led to a lot of easy mid range shots for the Heat as well. That is not a good sign for the defense and we all need to keep an eye on that next game. We also saw a regression on the offensive end. While we did have 27 assists on 35 makes, which is really good, we still saw a lot more iso ball but they just missed the shots. It was also struggle city beyond the arc with Grant, Tatum and Horford combining for 0-10. Overall, this was an ugly one so hopefully they can turn this around Friday night at home against the Pacers.
