The Boston Celtics get back at it after two days off with a contest agains the reeling Charlotte Hornets. Avery Bradley is likely to make his return after missing four games, while Kelly Olynyk is a game-time decision.

At Celtics practice Sunday, Isaiah Thomas fired back at Dennis Schroder for claims he insulted the Hawks guard's family. The NBA issued a large fine to Jae Crowder for making contact with John Wall's face in a Wednesday altercation. Avery Bradley returned to contact practice.

With the Maine Red Claws competing for attention with Saturday night’s AFC Divisional matchup between the New England Patriots and the Houston Texans, Abdel Nader and the Red Claws put on an outside shooting showcase before a crowd of 2,407 Saturday night at the Portland Expo in Portland, Maine, winning their 16th game of the season, 115-108 over the Windy City Bulls.

The Boston Celtics knocked off the Atlanta Hawks 103-101 Friday night to create 2.5 games of separation between the two teams for third in the Eastern Conference. It was Al Horford's first trip back to Atlanta since leaving the franchise for Boston in free agency.

Al Horford spent nine seasons in Atlanta as a member of the Hawks, yet on Friday January 13, Horford returned to Atlanta as a member of the Boston Celtics.

Horford finished with 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists in his return, yet it was Isaiah Thomas’ show once again, as Thomas netted the game winning shot with 2.4 seconds remaining, and the Celtics slid past the Hawks, 103-101 Friday night at the Philips Arena.

Thomas scored 13 of his game-high 28 points in the final frame, including a step-back jump shot over the outstretched hands of Kent Bazemore with 2.4 seconds remaining in the game, ultimately sealing the Celtics’ 25th win on the season.

As reported on Thursday by CLNS Radio’s Mike Walsh on Thursday, Avery Bradley did not travel with the team for tonight’s matchup against the Atlanta Hawks.

The 26-year old shooting guard is nursing a sore Achilles, and hopes to return to the court when the Celtics play host to the Charlotte Hornets Monday night at the TD Garden.

The Celtics received a bit of good news with Amir Johnson and Jaylen Brown hopping on the team plane to Atlanta. Both players missed Wednesday’s win against the Washington Wizards with sprained ankles, and are hopeful to play tonight against the Hawks.
