After 18 seasons, 2,973 three-pointers, 10 All-Star appearances and two NBA titles, former Boston Celtic Ray Allen announced his retirement from the league Tuesday morning. Marcus Smart will make his season-debut Wednesday night. Abdel Nader and the Maine Red Claws opened NBA D-League training camp Tuesday in Portland.

Marcus Smart had his option picked up for next season, while also announcing that he will make his 2016-17 debut Wednesday. Terry Rozier's option was also picked up by Boston. Kelly Olynyk will likely miss at least another week. The Maine Red Claws participated in the NBA Development League draft Sunday.

Facing the Charlotte Hornets in their home opener, Avery Bradley's 31 points - and career-high eight made three-pointers - sent Hornets fans home disappointed.

Boston shot 48 percent from the floor, including an impressive 48 percent from distance.

The Bulls out worked the Celtics on the glass tonight getting 18 offensive rebounds. Boston goes on a 16-4 run in the 4th but comes up short in the end.
